I have an e-power (510 connection); a GLV supermini (510 connection); and a Reo Mini (510 connection). I am trying to use up some 808 attys / cartos.

2 adapters 510 to 901 came from madvapes- they can screw onto the e-power and GLV- but NOT the Reo

1 adapter came with the GLV- it fits on all 3 units.....
All my 510 cartos / attys also fit on all 3 units.

I am not really expecting a solution- but venting at the horrible quality and inconsistency that is out there.

The REO connector is a little different than others. I only know this because when I buy cisco attys, they have an option just for REO.

Actually, it isn't, it's just precise. That option was just added in Mid-May because of issues with the atty threading. The Cisco (and Isaac) attys fit just fine until the last batch of attys. They are having the same issues with Provari mods.

I've noticed the same thing with Riva batteries. They don't screw on at first. You have to fiddle with them and start and stop until you finally get the threads engaged properly. Once you do that and screw them on and off a couple of times, they work fine.

I think it's mass production threading and they don't run a steel brush up the threads to polish them out before or after plating. It's a minor headache because once you get them to thread life is good after that.

So why do they work in pretty much everything but the provari and the REO? What's the difference between those two and anything else? Do those two have a deeper or shorter thread? Or is it just unsealed connectors not making good contact (not sure if that's a valid question because I think the vari has a sealed connector)?

I'm not sure what you mean by "precise". Are you saying that the REO and Provari connectors do a better job of conforming to some sort of standard than connectors on other devices?

Sorry for all the questions. I'm a little consumed by curiosity on this because I haven't actually found a white paper or manufacturing standard for anything but the 306. I've found all sorts of vague descriptions that include diameter and spacing, but nothing else. I thought it would be just as easy as antenna and standard cable connections, but it sort of looks like the chinese manufacturers are flying by the seat of their pants on most of this stuff.
