Harsh TH on my Riva 510

Just got my Riva 510 and it seems to be really harsh on my throat, Im waiting for my cartos and using 14mg USA Mix from TF in the cartridges that came with it, Dripping seems to be harsh as well. Is this normal? I refiled the carto from my Mistis with the same stuff and it is smoothe as can be..

Are you sure you've got enough juice in your cartridge? Maybe start over: blow out the juice in your atty into a tissue, add 4-5 drops directly on your atomizer, vape a couple of pulls without inhaling to experience the taste in your mouth. You should hear your juice sizzling in your atty. If it's got a loud gurgle, there's too much juice. Dry hiss, not enough. Once you learn the sound it really makes a difference. I direct drip 98% of the time and haven't gotten a burnt taste in months. I prolly look weird holding my PV to my ear to listen for the sizzle. Buit it makes it easy to tell where you are in your vape cycle. Hope it's better soon

1 - USA Mix is probably 100% PG Chinese juice. PG does nothing to buffer TH or nicotine's irritation. Get some US juices with some VG in them. I recommend 80PG/20VG for cartomizers (or less VG) and I use up to 50/50 on atomizers (normal atomizers. Tank atomizers prefer 30% or less though some thin 50/50's may work)

2 - the atomizers that come with Riva may be low resistance (below 2.5 ohms). You could get a higher resistance 510 atomizer for less heat. Heat enhances hit. Try an atomizer around 2.7 to 3 ohms?

3 -If your Riva is one of the real 3.7v ones, they come off the charger higher like all 3.7v batteries. So take it easy with your drags when a battery is fresh off the charger. And drag into your mouth first, then inhale, and bringing a bit of fresh air after may smooth it a bit.

4 - New atomizers usually have nasty harsh primer like machine oil on them. *blow out the atomizer into a tissue. Drip some juice (like 3-4 drops on the atomizer bridge, wait for that to soak down to the coil, using a drip tip or empty cartridge, vape that mostly off without inhaling. Repeat from *. Repeat again but try inhaling to see if the primer is gone.

When I got my E-Power the carts that came with the kit for free that had prefilled liquid were really harsh also. I ended up never using them.
Try the suggestions Dormouse and Boodle gave you and see if that helps.
Once you get more juice in, use the atomizers to test the juices. Never fill a carto with a juice you havent triend bc then if you dont like it you wasted a carto.
Once your cartos come in I think youll be much happier. And I recommend trying the Ressurector cartos on your Riva, they will make it hit like a beast!


As for juice, There are many vendors that have great juice.

Look for the ones that have sample packs so you can try a bunch. I like the ones that let you pick your own for sample packs.

BlueMist Vapor is really cheap($5 for 10ml and $10 for 30ml) and has over 250+ juices. They also have to options for sample packs. (5) 3ml juices for $10 or (5) 10ml juices for $20. Id get the 3ml ones so you can try more juices and find what you like.
Never buy big bottles until you know you like a juice. They also have extra flavor shots for .50cents more and if you find a juice you really like you can get 180ml bottle for $30, which is super cheap.

There are many other vendors that are really good too and Im sure someother people will throw out some good suggestions.

Vape is definitely stronger with an ego than some of the mini's. You could cut your juice with a little VG to smooth it a bit. Not a lot, because it'll delete the flavor.

And I recommend if you create your own flavors at GV, do others a favor and mark your flavors private unless one turns out well, then go back and make it public.
