Im somewhat new to SS mesh wicks. Im trying an unoxided method developed by Petar K. Coil look beautiful and without liquid doing a dry burn they all light up evenly on the wick. So I dont think I have a short. But the vapor is low and very harsh. Im using 24mg 80/20 liquid and ive tried two types so far and same on both. The same e-liquid with silica is normal with more vapor. Is this just how SS mesh vapes?

its an aga t2 and the coil is 30 awg kanthal at 1.8 ohm. Im wondering if maybe my wick isnt cutting it. I did a solid wick of the stuff that came with the aga t2 and im thinking it may be too tight. So im getting dryish hits. The sensation is a burning that lingers somewhat...I have 12mg ill give that try before I scrap this wick.

yup got the fill hole screw out and keep it lined up with air hole. with the changes to the wick its not bad now. also I think its breaking in cause its getting better the longer I vape it. atleast on par with silica. Im going to place an order for some 500 mesh from steam monkeys which hopefully is better wick.

youll be impressed with the #500. better wicking, better flavor. i wasnt even ready for the extra wicking ability of it and got a few drops of unvaporized liquid come dripping out of my top cap. little to no tilting is necessary.

when you get a metallic flavor, the coils are to blame. most likely a hot spot or too loose of a wrap somewhere in your coil.

Curious - my 500 is over wicking.
AGA-T Fill - screw out
2pc. 1.5x1.75 500
Rolled one then added the second
Rolled around paperclip
Snug fit - not tight
Twisted unknown Kanthal(maybe 36)
5/6 wrap
1.4Ohms
Air hole aligned with wick
Takes 9-10 watts to get it going then it boils and gets Harsh fast. 12mg Nutty Caramel

I'm at a bit of a loss Same basic setup on my mini DUD's and AGA-S working great.
I have reworked the wick several times and recoiled twice.
No hot spots

Is your airhole lined up with your wick? Forgive if you already know this but just in case, if you line up your airhole with your wick, you won't get too strong of a TH. Wasn't sure if you're saying that it's lined up with the fill hole or the wick...
