If i did not have an open mind i would of said anybody who vapes diketone filled juices is a ..... and should have their head examined .

I didn't say that , i said my common sense tells me that "it's just a matter of time before serious health consequences reveal themselves ."
Ignoring every fact discussed here.... Sorry, you are just repeating propaganda. You don't have a single fact on your side. Your "common sense" = ANTZ Propaganda

How about this.

Following your logic of Absolutes - Very ANTZ like by the way, and I actually know and talk with a professional one quite often.(fellow employee and political activist)

Diketones Must Be completely Dangerous or PERFECTLY SAFE.

I Say ANTZ LOGIC because they use those exact same minute proof arguments. The least little doubt is Good enough for an all on fight to get what they want.

Air is a Necessity for life
Air is NOT perfectly Safe

Something May be Dangerous in proven Quantity, say Nicotine :D, but relatively(not Perfectly) safe in another(PROVEN) quantity.

This is why I keep asking:
Where is the Scientific Medical Data?

Watch out for the Bumble Bee in that Safe Air :)

Why do people keep asking "where is the scientific data" question when they know all too well it will be quite a few more years for that info surfaces.

If vaping took off in the 80,s or 90's all that data would be readily available but the overwhelming majority have only been vaping for a couple years at this point.

It appears that since updated data is not available at this time because again, it's way too early in the game , some folks prefer to throw caution into the wind instead of taking the more "common sense approach" of playing it safe until reliable data becomes available.

Thats fine , we all deal with the consequences of our choices.

You just won't quit. Keep spreading the propaganda.
No I won't. You know why? Because if I'm wrong, people will unnecessarily avoid a few specific flavoring components, but if you're wrong people will unnecessarily suffer grave consequences to their health.

Now I have no problem with people making an informed decision to take the risk involved in vaping liquids with high levels of diketones, but I will not let statements that imply that diketones are of no concern and "completely safe" stand without challenge.

Just a FWIW, there are no facts at this time , you know that and so does everyone else . Even a child in kindergarten could figure out that vaping diketones is a very bad idea , c, mon man lol.

There are one billion facts on my side, as discussed endlessly today. You did not dare challenge my facts because you can't. You just throw out your propaganda bombs like I highlighted previously

What are you talking about , you don't make any sense whatsoever . I would like to hear your facts since none are available , Rossum is using "basic common sense" and his approach is the responsible way to look at it .

OK, one billion facts on your side LOL , please post the facts about vaping juices with diketone amounts that exceed those found in cigarettes over a 10 to 15 year average when sub ohm ing .

Lets start simple with that question first

Waiting for what possibly might happen 20 year's down the road is
a dodge. Current science tells us their will be no there, there.
Every one seems to forget that vaping cold be so safe as not
to warrant any serious health concerns at all. Shall we regulate it
out of business until this just as likely outcome happens?
Regards
Mike

Vaping should not be taken away , what should be eliminated imo is all diketones that are so prevalent in todays E juices or at the very least make vendors reveal truthfully about what their juices really contain.

It's not that only diketone filled e juices are a vapors only choice in todays market.

I for one do not cotton to such guilt trip arguments. When the regs destroy the market
who is going to be responsible for the health of the smokers and those that go back
to smoking?

Mike

The diketones concern is being taken care the old fashioned. People
are voting with their wallets. The vendors are responding. Unfortunately
the deeming regs will take care of all your concerns real or imagined.

I don't think the discussion we're having here has any bearing on regulations any longer. The regulations are already written and will likely come into force early next year. Congress has failed to extend the grandfather date, so from that perspective, it's a moot point.

So the government is responsible?

What are you talking about , you don't make any sense whatsoever . I would like to hear your facts since none are available , Rossum is using "basic common sense" and his approach is the responsible way to look at it .
Facts:

Every known cause of BO is a powdered compound in a dusty environment. Coal dust in coal mines, cotton dust in textile mills, and powdered diacetyl in popcorn factories.

As a result, the medical world considers BO a "dust born disease". Thanks to Skoony for providing a number of links to that.

There are NO KNOWN CASES of BO outside of dusty industrial situations.

ETA: There are no known cases of BO among vapers either. Although vaping has been around "only" 7 years or so, it is a FACT that BO showed up in popcorn workers in two years or less.

The fact that there are one billion smokers, with NOT ONE CASE of BO found, and MILLIONS OF AUTOPSIED lungs showing no evidence of BO supports the idea that the science and the medical community were right- diaceytl, like other agents of BO, are only dangerous in powdered/dust form. And of course, the medical community finds no link between smoking and BO because that community knows about all the millions of autopsied lungs showing no evidence of BO.

There is no reason to think vaping will be any different. It may turn out that way, but it would be surprising if it does.

Everyone is free to choose what to vape or to go back to cigs if they can't deal with the ugly propaganda here and elsewhere. That is a totally different thing than a review of the FACTS without speculation and propaganda. I never try to predict the future to find some ultimate truth. I merely point out that the FACTS I outlined above suggest diacytl is safe, at least in roughly the quantities in cig smoke (equivalent to about 300 micrograms/ml of juice)
