For those of you who responded to my post of the other day, titled, "No scare tactics. Independent lab testing of 51 flavors of e-cigarette products." I thank you for your responses.
Douggro mentioned that this study had been debunked earlier in this thread, so I thought I would go back and read the entire thread, just to get up to speed.
I appreciate your patient attempts to educate me in these matters (and the not so patient attempts as well!) It's a very dynamic forum, with lots of different people contributing, which is great.

Thanks for getting back to us, for reading the preceding parts of the thread where the "science" was seriously called into question, and for understanding that the nature of this place seems to be 5 pages of reasonable discourse before it breaks down into a barroom brawl..

If this was a serious post you may want to read more than just the first post in this very long thread.
and what exactly would that change? we don't know what risk diketones may pose to vapers, all we know is that inhaled diketones have been linked in other industries to severe respiratory problems. None of us know how this translates to vaping diketones and the risk it may pose.
It might produce an understanding that we need real, unbiased study of the matter rather than agenda-influenced, fear-mongering results masquerading as science.
I have not heard one person disagree with your stance that more research is needed, but until that happens, many are not taking unnecessary risk with their health by vaping diketones plain and simple.
Yep, I'd be one of those people. In fact I've been one of those people for years. That doesn't mean that I didn't read this "study" and recognize it for the crap that it is.
I am not saying that it would change anything other than opening the eyes of those that read something like this very biased so call study. To many folks read the headlines and make their decisions from that. This one, like so many others, was written and conclusions drawn from preconceived ideas. JMHO
The only issue i have with this article is that it did not do a fair comparison to diketones that exist in cigs as well. But honestly for me it doesn't matter if the article was solely based on vaping because i don't smoke and only care about what i am vaping regardless of how it compares to smoking. I don't smoke anymore so let the smokers worry about what is or isn't in smokes because it's not relevant to me as a vaper now.
Hey i am well prepared to accept if studies come out proving i am wrong...my lungs will still be fine regardless. However if my precautions were the right decision my lungs will be thanking me...while the others who didn't take precautions their lungs will be letting them know in time how their decisions and choices worked out for them...everybody has the right to make their own choices. Either way my lungs will be fine in the end because of my choices.

I am thinking that the only way one can make a statement such as this, one should be vaping unflavored. there is much ado about diketones but we really have no idea as to the effect of other compounds. This one, to me, is a red herring. This one article may be the one thing that scares folks away from vaping and that my friend is just sad.
I don't understand how people can not care about smokers yet care about all vapers
If people wish to smoke that is there choice as is the health effects that come along with it. I worry about what i do and the choices i make as a vaper..not others choices for smoking and the health consequences of it. Everybody has a right to make their own choices and decisions...they have made them like i have made mine. Smoking is no longer relevant for me as a vaper..how that got twisted into not caring about others is beyond me.
