I use a LR atty on my RiVa (ego). In fact, it came with one in the starter kit. What's the problem with that?
I'm still a newbie, and I really appreciate all you harvester snails! Every post I've made here got immediate multiple responses, and it was a great help. Still is, in fact, as I'm nowhere near an expert yet. There was only one time that a responder said something sarcastic and patronizing. And that person got jumped on by the others! LOL Everyone else, without exception, acted as though they'd never been asked that question before and had absolutely nothing better to do than patiently try to understand my difficulty and help me through it.
What I particularly appreciate is the patience you guys show with questions that have been asked over and over again. I did a lot of surfing through the board before I started posting questions. But many times, I found conflicting answers that confused me. Different people would give opposing opinions. Or someone would post that they'd found the 'best' way to do something, only to post a month or 2 later that their earlier method was no good after all. Or I'd find terminology that confused me. For example, I just figured out there's a difference between dripping and topping off. Geez, you use a drip tip for both, so who knew? LOL Other times, I'd find answers from 2009 or something that I wasn't sure were still true. For example, I've read that you have to use a pin or needle or something to break a film seal before you can fill something. I can't remember whether the post was about a carto or something else, but I know that I've never had to do that. So all I can assume is it's something you used to have to do way back when. My point is that sometimes posting a question that's been asked and answered before is the only way to be sure you understand the answer.
As for the newbies always insisting they want an analog look-alike for $10, I don't think that's necessarily true. Yes ... my first post started out with the 'look-alike' request, but after reading responses from a bunch of you good folks, I ended up going with a RiVa (ego), which I think was a much better choice for me. As far as the cost ... no, I didn't want to spend $300 on my first starter kit, not knowing if it was going to be a good fit, but since I had a $40 a week analog habit, it didn't really bother me to start off with a $90 price tag. (Of course, I'm up to nearly $300 by now since I quickly decided I wanted a 2nd kit as a back-up and I wanted to try gajillions of different juices.)
Sorry for all the rambling, but I thought some of you might like to hear the newbie point of view on all this. Plus, I want to ask y'all (yes, I'm a southern gal) to keep on keepin' on. You do good work.
