Has a CE2 carto ruined vaping for me?

Okay, I was kidding with the subject line. But I just filled one with RY4 this morning (without cleaning) and it tasted like the a..s of a goat with leprosy. I stopped vaping it two hours ago and I can still taste the nasty. I think my brain is just imprinting the smell on me so I know to stay away, not unlike the reaction most of us have to the smell of rotted flesh or mall candle shops.

Interesting thing, though: I used a carto from the same box last night with no problem (well, aside from hideous wicking). Apparently they slipped one of the special Goat .... Edition cartos in on me accidentally.

I was trying to replace the clearomizer as my go-to carto. And while that continues to be my goal, I don't think I can risk ever tasting that nastiness again.

Where did you get your clear CE2's from? I've used them exclusivley for a while now and have never had a bad taste from them at all. The ones I get dont have primer or anything like that in them so I just fill and enjoy. Mine come from gotvapes so that is why I ask where you got yours from. Maybe try doing a long burn. Let the coil get nice and orange a few times, this may help you out. Or just go ahead, gently take the clear tube off, run the CE2 under warm water, wash all the juice off of it. Dab the strings with a paper towel then do the burn a few times. Refill and see how that works out for you.

Always wash these out and dry burn before using...at least wash. I like to use Vodka myself, since it evaporates quickly, although warm/hot water would do.

With the ones I use from gotvapes I've never had to wash or dry burn before using them. They are nice and clean and primer free right out of the package.

So, I pulled out the first two rubber rings (haven't figure out how to detach the innermost yet) and soaked them in tap water for a couple of hours. Put 'em back, and it's vastly improved. Whatever lubricant (or goat seepage or whatever) was causing the taste was apparently mostly being retained by the rubber.

I will clean them thoroughly, though.

Bella, these are metal CE2s I'm trying to use in place of clearos... which I love, but they're fragile and I have some other concerns.

Vaporsheaven.com has clearomizers and the black metal CE2 cartos at 2.4-2.6 ohms. At least, they did earlier this week. This was my first order with them, and it was a great experience.

Thanks for the heads up on Vaporsheaven. I just ordered both a clear and a black. Gonna give these a shot and see if I like them.

Thought I would report back in this thread. I got the Clearo's and black CE2's that I ordered last week from Vaporsheaven.

Clearo #1- split down the side as I was attempting to fill it. Juice everywhere
Clearo #2- top part (where the mouthpiece goes) basically crumbled in my hand as I was filling. Clearo was half full when it happened, so the juice was wasted.

Clearo #3- finally success in filling it without it breaking. First hit- OMG BLECH!!! Tasted just like a dry carto. So I assumed the juice just hadn't gotten into the wick yet. Let it sit for a while. Next hit- less blech, but no juice flavor. Each subsequent hit had less of the nasty taste. BUT- zero flavor! I even let my wife try it with same result- tons of vapor, zero flavor. So I decided to let it sit overnight. Tried it again this morning, same result- tons of vapor, zero flavor.

I guess me and the Clearo's are not meant to be. That was a lot of juice wasted on those 3 clearos- glad it was not one of my favorite juices. I'm going to give the CE2's a stab tonight. Any advice on how to make sure I don't get a nasty ... hit would be appreciated.

I like clearomizers, they are much less problematic than ego-t tanks and atty's. I take out the clear silicon seal and the rubber ring below that and use a fairly long drip tip. I replace the white rubber ring if I am going to leave the house with them because without it juice can leak out, but it does somewhat restrict airflow. Now I don't know if this is my imagination or what, but there is another white piece in it that looks like it's attached to a black piece of plastic. If I am not getting much flavor I tip the thing and get juice on that white piece. It doesn't even seem like that should have any effect on flavor but it seems to.

That's the ceramic cup that houses the coil. By tipping the juice you're feeding the coil, so yes, that's why you're getting more flavor. I have to do that when my carto is about half empty.
