Has any one taken a KR808d apart?

I took one apart a few minutes ago and it seems to be very simple in its design. Wondering if we (I say we but really mean you :; ) can come up with something similar but diy.

I looks like a light bulb filament(sp?) with no real wick except a small fiberglass roping(i assume) and the polyfil packed tightly around it.

Just putting it out there... any one have any ideas?

Is the center wire running down the cart straight, or is there a coil to it at some point?

as far as i can tell there is no coil. The second picture shows a wire that is soldered to the inside of the bat terminal. The third pic shows the "plug" that fits through the bat terminal and both wires were soldered together and wrapped around the wick twice. Hope that helps

huh ? in my pictures of a desected KR8 from heaven-gifts is definatley a coil, and on all other pics i saw in the past too.

That's why I asked, it looks like his carto has a thicker nichrome wire running through it based on the angled pic 2... looks different than the rest of them. I'm gonna try to dissect and rebuild one if I can get one to die. Just need to order some nichrome wire.

mine didn't look like that. It was wrapped only once maybe twice around the wick.

I have been trying myself,to make an m401 cartomizer the metal tubing on k8 are huge yes it is very simple my question is why do m4 use ceramic rod. I seen green cig ones using hair which is the easiest . U origonally said that urs only had few coils around the wick i think it unravelled when u took it out.how di u take battery connector off with out damage

I guess it is possible that it unraveled when I pulled it out. IDK I din't take the terminal off just the center post that was held in by the rubber gasket. I will have to try again and be more careful when I pull it out.
