Hey guys,

Sold my old silver bullet to a buddy of mine and he's having problems with it not working consistently. I've had a Bolt do this and had to take it apart and re solder some of the connections on the switch. They are very similar in construction and design, but thought id post in here to see if anyone's taken this thing apart. These are bullet proof mods but my friend is a mechanic and he beat the crap out of it lol.

Does the plastic disc in the small switch piece come out? Is it just glued in like the Bolt? Or does it thread out? I noticed a small hole, is this to aide in the removal?

Any help is appreciated. Thanks! :vapor:

How did you make out with this? I realize this was posted two weeks ago....

I had an older Silver Bullet that I was finally brave enough to take apart recently. And yes, the little hole in the disk helped. I just hooked a paper clip into it and pulled and out it slowly came. There were two bits of silicone glue in there holding everything together nice and tight. I was able to wedge those out. I don't have a soldering iron, so I just cut the wiring and pulled out the switch assembly to have it powdercoated by a local company here. I let AltSmoke take it over from there and they put in a brand spankin' new switch assembly and connector for me. It looks great and now it's my fave new SB! :D

Yes, they do charge for a new switch, but it was a very reasonable $10. My local powdercoating company put a plug in the 510 connector but still sprayed over the top of the connector, so AltSmoke put in a new one of those as well and it was back in my hands again within a few days.

I have pics of the insides that I'll pm to you.
