Soooo...I work for a pretty well known and large health care company. There are all sorts of "Healthy incentives" going on and of course, we are not allowed to smoke anywhere on the property. Apparently 1/2 away from the nearest door was not far enough away. And soon we will be tobacco free, whatever that means. I guess if I have a pack of smokes in my pocket red lights and sirens will go off and i will get tackled.

Anyhoo, has anyone been successful in convincing their company to allow vaping in designated areas? I am not expecting to puff away at my desk, or even in doors. Closer than 1/2 mile away would be nice tho. This is a VERY large campus, it's not like you can just cross the street.

I am not sure how to go about this, or if I should bring it up at all.

I just told them I'm breaking no laws and they checked on it. When they found out I was correct my boss ordered one and is vaping at work too. :) Sounds to me that your company has its own policy and I don't think your gonna change their minds. :(

I think you might be right. This company is always campaigning about health and good living and whatnot, while at the same time making claims to own the very air I breathe.

I bet the cars in the parking lot put out more harmful fumes than my piddly little PV.

I too work for a large, well known Health Care company which has recently gone smoke-free. No tobacco product use on company property and all of the smokers have to go out to the street or outback behind a row of trees. I don't expect that they will provide a designated area for vaping...

I am able to work from my home office the majority of time and only go into the office maybe once a week. The management team of my home office allows vaping where ever and when ever I want.

There is no specific rule against vaping where I work, only smoking, but I know my departments director boss well enough that I am sure she will create one if anyone is caught vaping – so I am a very circumspect stealth vaporer.:sneaky:

Stealth vaping is very easy for me at work as I have an office and even though it is considered rude to close the door, I am able to arrange my desk so that I am not visible from the hall unless someone pokes their head in. Given that I use my smallest batteries (my original npros) and cup them in my hand, and completely inhale the vapor, using a pg based e-liquid from a catomizer, directly into my lungs so very little vapor ever visible. I also never vape tobacco flavors at work, so that the little smell that is created will just convince fellow workers I am addicted to Red Hots.

I believe almost anyone could successful stealth vape at work, even if just in a bathroom stall, if one is careful be sure to produce as small an amount of vapor as possible.
