Thanks for your responses. I ordered one, and with their coupon got 10% off, $3 for 1st class postage. I'm good with that as long as it works. The only reason I ordered one is because I ordered sr 3.0 ohm cartos instead of my usual 2.0 lr cartos. Now I'll get to see what 5v vaping is all about.

I have a 2 amp wall port. I am also getting this: Walmart.com: iQ-Power Dual USB AC Power Adapter: iPods & MP3 Players. Another member mentioned it, and I thought it looked cool.

Vaping with a 3Ω carto at 5.2 Volts right now. It's perfect. The 2Ω cartos at 3.7V are about 7 Watts. The 3Ω cartos at 5V are a little over 8W. It will be slightly warmer. I'm sure you'll be quite happy with it. Plus, you always get the same voltage and never have to worry about batteries running down with a direct passthru. Get a 2A USB cig lighter adapter and you can use it in your car as well.

You can be assured that everything these guys sell is top notch. Sure they have the cheap starter kits but we all have to start somewhere. The owner, staff and family are friends of mine and I fully trust everything they sell and they really stand behind their products.

Haha! I guess I'll go with the flow...and "learn to adjust". How many watts is the best for flavor? At what point does it get muted?

I will tape down the end, thanks.

It looks identical to the one I have and I gave more than that. I suggest taping the bottom of the unit and down the cord a couple of inches.

Edit: It looks like the usb adapter is 2 amps, 10 watts. Should handle your PT just fine. Now what are you gonna do if 8 watt vapin' plum ruins ya??? :vapor:

Wrapping tape around the bottom of the ecig where the cord comes in is a must ! Also my4jels if you get one of these like I have you can then take this unit with you wherever you go. I just keep the power source in m back pocket, comes in real handy = http://www.amazon.com/New-Trent-IMP...4?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1311090763&sr=1-4

I haven't tried their pass through, but I can vouch for the company. I bought their solar mod. It is a bit larger than I expected, but it does everything it is supposed to. Vapes great holds a charge, recharges in the light, and I use it mostly to recharge my cell phone. Also the shipping was very quick.

mwa, I am looking at this Amazon.com: New Trent itruck IMP880 8900mAh External Battery Pack and Charger for iPad2, iPad, iPhone 4 4G 3Gs 3G (AT&T and Verizon), iPod Touch (1G 2G 3G 4G), Motorola Droid, HTC Android Phones, Blackberry, Kindle, Samsung Galaxy S, Nintendo, Sony P. So, it's like carrying a power supply for the passthrough, right? Could you explain in detail how this works? 8900mah is awesome, that's a lot of vaping time!!! What about recharging? How long does it take to recharge?

Just like using a wall adapter, but you don't have to plug it in to the wall. I don't own one so I can't say on the recharge time, but I can comment on the capacity. It's a lot. Most people use less than 1000mAh per day so it would run over 8 days on a charge. That's a lot of juice (as in electrcity). As a sparky myself, I've always refered to electricity as juice so it's weird for me when people say juice in reference to e-liquid. There's actually a reason people refer to electricity as juice. In the old days before quantum mechanics (discovery of the atom), they thought electricity resulted from fluid movement through a wire and referred to the fluid as "juice". The bigger the battery, the more juice it could hold. They were sort of right, just electrons instead of fluid, but the nomenclature stuck.

I didn't see any specs on the max current output for that power pack. For a 3Ω at atomizer at 5V, it needs to be able to put out at least 5V/3Ω or 1.7A.

I think I'm gonna luv it! With my eGo and Boge 2.0 cartos, I puff, puff, puff trying to get it really warm and flavorful, and my batt cuts off, so I keep going, and just before it hits the way I want it to, my carto is getting too warm for my liking, so I have to let it cool down. I like a very warm vape.

A lot of people think 8W is really the sweet spot, for many liquids. The IQ puts out somewhere in the 4.8 - 5V zone, coupled with a 3 ohm carto you'll be right at that nominal 8W.

You'll likely enjoy it :)

I'm really liking this power source thingy! So, using this with a passthrough is like batt-free vaping. How long does it take to recharge it?
