has anyone noticed how vaping seems to be some sort of weird religion?

sitting around our chargers like they're some sort of idols with our sacrificial bottles of juice sitting near by and the "smoke" from our pvs hanging around our heads....

ok, i haven't had enough coffee yet today. (which is sad since it's 4:30)

sorry if i offend anyone...the thought just occurred to me and i found it amusing lol. :)

I'm not sure religion is the word I would use. Obsession, perhaps.

Although, as you noted, there are rituals involved. And, there is faith (belief without need for proof) that this thing is less harmful than the cigarettes we traded for it.

AFAIK, there are no core principles outlined for moral vaping, no unifying supreme being, no collection plate, no need to wear special clothing, no congregating.

I'll stick with the obsession. And a very powerful one at that, it has replaced a 35 year habit. And I find some aspects of it interesting from technological, biological, and sociological perspectives. Just don't see the religion aspect. To each his/her own though.

lol does this involve sitting in a pointy tent and wearing face paint?

the loin cloths can be a bit drafty i hear.

Well, since it's all new, we can all vote on standard vape-lodge wear. (No chain-mail or spandex allowed!) :D

Then that can be incorporated into the Vaping dogma along with PCC standards and PV etiquette. :w00t:

Here and back
NCC - You don't really think the OP was using the term religion as in Christianity, Judaism, Islam do you???? There are more ways to use this word.

Did you note the last line in the OP:

"sorry if i offend anyone...the thought just occurred to me and i found it amusing lol."

Can you interrupt that to mean they meant offense?

I take my vitamins religiously every morning, not with prayer, in church or with a Deity in mind, just for health.

Come on, why do so many people look for a fight over such insignificant things. Be Christan like and forgive Gasp if they offended your sensibilities.

hmm......i'll vote for jeans and some form of shirt like top to be the de facto wear. shoes optional (i hate the damned things myself)

i have to agree you on the spandex though. the 80's being awesome and all that...there are some things that just can't be forgiven.
that's my $.02.
suggestions on dogma?
