Was just reading about this in Popular Mechanics. The Prieto 3d battery promises up to 5x the power and energy density of traditional lithium ion batteries as well as faster recharge times.
This is due to a unique architecture that virtually eliminates the risk of batteries catching on fire....unlike todays lithium ion batteries.
Besides the obvious safety improvements, what this means is that hopefully in a few years we will have 3000 MaH cigalike batteries that can recharge in half the time.
Or how about an 18650 that lasts 30-50 hours as opposed to ten?
