Has anyone tried Moly Paste for switch lube?

Had a thought last night about lubing the switch on my Stingray using moly paste. I'll probably tear it down later this afternoon and give it a go.

I was just wondering if anyone else has tried this and if so, what your thoughts were?

Had a tub around for shooting sports and thought why not give it a shot {pun fully intended }

Works like a charm.

Dabbed some on the shaft and rice pin channel and smoothed it around....left it on a little heavy as opposed to polishing it down like you do in gun bores. Set the switch for about 1 mm travel when installed and I like it. Switch is smooth as butter.

So this works well? My SRX has been getting a bit o' the ol' crunch going on lately, and despite my efforts at sanding and vaseline I think I need something more powerful.

I found that burnishing it in the same way you would do a gun barrel works best..leave any extra on there and it gums up after a day or two.

You might try leaving it a little heavy for the first while..and then polishing it after it's had a chance to work in.

I can not see leaving gobs of moly on the switch if you carry your mod in your pocket..

I haven't tried moly paste but thanks for the tip. I put some noalox on my SRX switch and that seems to be working.

In my experience Noalox also will gum up on sliding surfaces..but as always-- your experience may vary

I just started using the noalox so maybe it's too early to tell but I'll be keeping an eye on it.

imo, moly's pretty nasty if you want to stay healthy ... you don't really want it on your hands or near your mouth, even by accident.

Unless you plan on licking the post and collar of a switch it's probably not a concern though...
