Has this happened to anyone else? (taste of E-Liquid)

Hi all. I'll start off by saying a switched from dipping (smokeless tobacco: skoal, copenhagen, etc) to e-cigs almost flawlessly. My last dip was March 29th, 2012.

I started out by ordering some great flavors of e-liquid. I had banana, RY4, Vanilla, Coffee, Menthol, and Cola.

I found the cola one to be flat out nasty and haven't tried it since the day I got it. I loved the vanilla and RY4 and used the menthol as my every day vape.

After about 3 weeks of vaping, I couldn't stand the taste or smell of any fruity flavors. It would almost make me sick to my stomach to have any other kind of flavor but menthol. I was just wondering, did anyone else have a similar issue? I only vape mentol now and haven't even touched the other flavors in weeks.

Yes and no. some days, I don't like my fruits, some I don't like the desserts..... Today, I'm not liking anything! I can't taste it. I switched to unflavored 24 mg 75PG/25VG mix for the day, hoping it'll clear up. Also increasing fluids as I tend to not drink enough during the day.

I've had that experience. When I first started vaping I was all about the dessert flavors; butterscotch, caramel, and RY4. A few months in and I can't stand any of these. I went back to my tobacco vapes. Drinking water will probably help with your taste buds too, especially since vaping dries out your mouth. (I'd suggest purchasing some Biotene moisturizing mouth spray as well, but that's more to keep your mouth lubricated than anything)

When I started vaping 2 years back I also went for fruity flavours, cherry in particular I liked. These days however I only occasionally use a flavour at all. My daily vape is flavourless, although I still like the sweet ones for a treat occasionally, banana cream and 555 tobacco are what I have on hand at the moment for when i fancy some. I think I just like the taste of PG!

Having the same problem. I have juice from six different vendors and right now only one vendor's flavors tastes good to me. Another vendor's I can taste a little, the rest are awful! So now I have to figure out what makes Those different. This is actually what I was looking for when I saw your thread!

Mad Scientist Experiment #1002 :p I took my allergy pill and I'm going to keep vaping one I can't taste and see what happens.

I am along with some others, I like some on some days and not on others. My first juice was bought on recommendation from the vendor as it was close to my cigarette brand in flavor (I smoked Parliments, so it was tough matching). I used it twice and didn't touch it again until today. I had a hankering for tobacco flavor, and Dekang's Cuba Cigar wasn't cutting it. But now I probably won't touch it again for a while.

All over the place
I think it is possible that it is not the juice. If the juice is quality, aside from the flavors changing over time, I think it may be your actual palate and tongue that is the concern. For instance, when pairing wines with food, the wine interacts with what your palate and tongue has just experienced; so, the same wine can taste horrible with dinner, but great with dessert. I think it may be due to whatever else you've eaten or drank throughout the day that makes your juices taste better or worse. Some juices taste better after waking, some are my night vapes. Some juices taste good after hearty meals, and others are not so pleasant. I tend to think a brief palate cleansing with some tepid water does the trick to getting most juices to present themselves as a singular entity, rather than competing or interacting with what has coated the inside of my mouth. :2c:

EDIT****But, then again...sometimes we just simply outgrow flavors quickly, while other times flavors grow on us. There are a myriad of reasons as to why we go through these changes, but you can almost be certain that you will find something that will remain consistent with how you enjoy it..thank goodness! Maybe for you it is menthol?
