So yah. I started vaping a while ago (new to the forums tho), and when I first started I felt like a tool rolling around with my "ecig"
I realized that I got MORE nicotine and it cost a fraction of the price of cigs. I loved vaping from the start.
Now I look at analog smokers as the tools. I get more satisfaction and for a fraction of the price, and when did you ever hear of a cig with a watermelon flavor? or cheesecake?

I am now a nutcase for vaping / vaping culture / and ecigs. Vape on brothers and sisters... vape on.

I work in a REALLY well-known casual dining restaurant. If anyone's ever been a server or back-of-house in a restaurant, they can tell you, servers are smokers.

Well, we hired a guy six months ago who vaped. We all looked at him like he was the R word. But then he said, "Hey, buy a vape, try it, see if you like it." Our most hardcore smoker jumped first. He got an eGo-T with a clearomizer and tried vaping.

That started the snowball. It was like he was born again. He convinced almost every smoker there to try a vape. The original vaper was humble and didn't say, "I told you so!"

Who knows how many eGo-T's showed up all at once.

Now we no longer have a "smoke break". Out of almost twenty or more smokers, only four still smoke analogs. Our boss is befuddled. In the eight years he's been proprietor, he's never had to NOT worry about "smokers".

"It's like I can go take a leak during the rush and the bathroom DOESN'T SMELL LIKE SMOKE!" - Boss, quoted.

EDIT: Now all the ex-smokers are huddled in a circle at the end of the night, sharing juice flavors. "CAN I TASTE YO' JUICE?!" lol

This is so flippin' awesome. I LOVE vaping!!!

Servers probably get better tips as well now. Not having to take a smoke break means they can be more attentive to the guests ... and don't come back either reeking of cigarette smoke or some over powering perfume/cologne. The restaurant at my hotel has a few servers interested in the idea. Some days I feel like I should borrow a small meeting room at our convention center side and do a seminar or something. :p

To date tho I've only converted one at work. But then he got sick for a bit and quit vaping as well. He said he is now just having one cigarette every now and then. I wanna beat him over the head with a wet noodle and remind him that he can vape still instead of that smoke. But hey, flip side, he's gonna give me the juices he doesn't particularly like and at least keep a few he does like "just in case"

As for OP's original subject ... I didn't really feel odd when I first started, but I also did start with an 808D-1 look alike. That only lasted 2 weeks and I got an eGo-C. Most of my co-workers then commented that it looked like an elegant pen. There's a thread on here somewhere about someone talking about the eGo style with a cone making one look more intelligent, using it as a pointer like the mouth piece of a pipe ... was a fun thread. I need to that my VTube to work one day just to see what people say about it I suppose. Or my Varistack. Probably the Varistack. It's not as bulky to keep in my pocket.

I used to think the lanyard for the egos were pretty lame. But I got one for my work and I can't believe how useful it is.
Short story, I don't give a crap what any of my .... looks like, I love vaping and I don't care who knows. GAY PRIDE!! uh wait.... VAPE PRIDE!!!

Lanyard won't work for me personally. Where I work having something like that showing is a no no ... but they provide the wardrobe and keep it clean for me ... so I don't mind so much. An eGo battery with a CE3 on it fits nicely in the inside pocket of the jacket I wear, so it works out well.

Please don't look at smokers like they are "tools". Instead look at them like future converts. You must get them to join the Cult of Vape™. If they refuse to hit your e-cig, and no amount of peer pressure or convincing can make them into a convert, THEN they are tools who are doomed to die a terrible death and you should let them die away from you (cuz it's ugly). That is, if they aren't your friends or family. In that case NEVER GIVE UP! They will crack eventually!

I just started vaping, but I still go out with the smokers at break. I stand back a little ('cause the smoke reeks now) and vape. Every day I get a few more questions. If I don't know the answer, I come here, look it up, and get back with them at the next break. Pretty sure I got my best friend wanting to go for it. She swears she's going to get one this weekend.

My boss hasn't seen it yet, which is the only one who might possibly have an issue with it. Everyone else either ignores whats in my hand and pretends it's an analog or asks a few questions.

I work in a re-manufacturing business, and mainly have our own area we work in. But it is also a retail store that we all (5 of us) work with walk-in customers. All of us used to smoke. Our boss is the only non-smoker there. Said boss hates when we go out back to have a smoke because of the smell that would follow us back inside, and we were required to use a mouth wash and a spray cologne before helping customers. I began vaping (which I now LOVE) and thus far have converted 1 other employee into vaping as well (we are working on the other 3 to get them to convert). After my first week of converting to vaping I met with my boss and educated her a little what it was all about. She has given us full permission to vape inside as long as it is not in front while with customers. She loves ( as do I) that we no longer smell like smoke or overpowering cologne. So now I can work while vaping, not having to go outside to do so. This makes me feel much more productive in my work. I feel fortunate that I have a boss who understands and allows us to vape while working.
