Have I broken a record for having the longest lasting cotton wick?

I just realized that I've been vaping on the same coil and cotton wick in my Kayfun Lite Plus for over a month. Any juice I put in it instantly taste like it should and it's still hitting just as hard as it would on a brand new coil.

In fact, it's hitting so hard and tasting so good that I'm almost afraid to take it apart to put in a new coil or new cotton. This has baffled me, because I'm so used to changing out my cotton every 2 to 3 days and making a new coil at least once a week. For some reason the coil and cotton I have now seems like it has lasted forever.

I'm going to keep vaping on it until I finally get a nasty taste. But that could could be another month from now. This is crazy. I never had a cotton wick to last this long.

Wow! Are you sure it wasn't cellucotton? ;)

You're not alone. I have 4 kayfuns that I coiled about 2 months ago and they are still going strong. The wicks are going on a month now and also going strong. I have an Aqua that I put a 'sleeper coil' in 3 months ago, maybe longer and it performs just as good today as it did the first day. I re-wicked the aqua about two weeks ago though.

Another member here shipped me a huge bag of rayon to try out so it looks like I'll be re-wicking a couple of kayfuns this week. :)

Nice, I noticed a huge increase in wick life when I reduced the amount of cotton used. Previously by the time two tanks were gone the cotton was black and smelled like death. I reduced the cotton to where it was just enough to touch the entire inside diameter of the coil but offfer little or no resistance when pulled through. When I went to change the wick per my normal routine i was surprised to find it still amber colored like my juice and good to go.

Yep, that's exactly what I've found too. I would bet that there is little to no discoloration with my month old wicks. I bottom fill my Aqua so I see the wicks every time I refill and yesterday when I topped it off the two week old wicks were still an off white color. No black at all. And I run the aqua at a higher wattage than my kayfun RTA's, so I imagine they look just as good.

Ever since I started using Reos and bottom feed atomizers, I get a lot more mileage out of my KGD cotton wicks. One reason for this is that when used properly, there is fresh juice being fed to the wicks all the time. There is no semi cooked juice laying around in the base of the atomizer, contaminating the cotton. Every time I squonk the juice bottle, fresh juice is fed, and the excess, that the wicks don't soak up, drains back into the bottle.

Congratulations. Seems to be a good day for you! I just wish I had someone who could sit with me and show me how to build a coil. I think I can do it off a video but I dunno, I learn better being showed

Not to hijack the thread, but JUST DO IT!

Ya, you might have to practice a few times, but it really isn't rocket science.

Be patient. Worst case scenario; you waste a couple feet of wire.

If you need some help with the ohms/wraps/wire, go here.

Wow that's a pretty long time lol. I love coils after they've been used a bit and get some of that build up on them. Of course on my RDA and the way I vape it doesn't take very long for it to get like that lol. I usually change my coil and wick every couple days in my Plume Veil unless I build something awesome that I don't want to tear apart then I'll vape it til the coil goes.
