Dont answer that..lol

So here is whats going on.. i switched to max VG on all my liquids due to water retention(Allergy)..
so regularly I vape 3 of my own DIY flavors.. as well as a flavor from a person on here named ArnieH called Zombie Blood (Absinthe) good stuff BTW..

Now I vape many set ups but my favorites have always been the Reo Grand RM6 dual coiled 28ga .8ohm and Reo Grand w cyclone w/afc with a single coil 26ga at .6.. but now they are just blah.. they hit fantastic .. the volume on the RM6 is awesome flavor ok. the cyclone volume is ok.. flavor is great..

Now comes the RM4 with it I get both i get awesome volume and flavor with a single 26ga .6ohm build.. and my 454 big block also single Coil 26ga .5 ohm build

My question is for all you veterans

have you noticed that your needs and taste change as you move through your vape life or am i just going through a phase..

Nothing at all wrong with what's happening to you. As I ventured through my vaping life (all of 10 months of it), my tastes in both flavor and hit have changed. I was in hog heaven when I started with my Reos and was so thrilled with the RM2, but after time, the Reos remain the same, but I've gone on to double coil, from 1ohm to .3, and constantly experimenting with builds and different attys. Sometimes I'll have the perfect build for me and vape happily until one day it just seems to be lacking, so it's off to experiment again. So I don't believe it's a phase, but rather our tastes are constantly changing. At any rate, it's all good and also fun!

Vape preference definitely can shift, then shift back...

But there's ALSO I think a more dramatic RANGE of performance possible with an atomizer than we allow for. What I mean is that I think sometimes, people will try a new topper, and make a determination that "this one has better flavor than that one, but that one is better for clouds" - when in reality, it's all due to differences in the build.

A very slight change in airflow can have a pretty dramatic effect on performance.
A very slight change in the height of the coil, or the position of the wick...

If a vaper were blindfolded, you could have them take hits off three setups - ALL effectively the "same build" - meaning all dual coil, .28 gauge, 0.8 ohms, and all in the same model atty - and STILL make them think it was three totally different atomizers by having them with different wick, coil height and airflow.

So...to the point.
When one of my favorite attys/builds seems to not be making me Ahhhhhh with every hit - I rebuild it (and usually vape a different one in the meantime, and go "Hmmmm - that's better than I remembered!").

:)

You are not alone, brother, and you've come to the right place.

I used to chase whole setups - mods/apvs and toppers. Since moving to the 'Ville I chase builds (and atties), and instead of slowing down (which one would expect when your mod is rock solid stabilized) I find it continues to evolve.

Builds/atties I thought were absolutely the be all end all are now waiting patiently on the table as I've progressed with the experimentation. I think I've long since reconciled that I'm never going to be "done" and I'm very chill with that.

I'll give you one from my vape world.

Last 2 years I've made very little changes except going from 1.3 ohm singles down to 1.1 ohm singles about 8 months ago.

For the last 3 weeks I've found everything has just been too much for me.

Same flavor as always so I diluted the flavor and cut the nic from 15'ish to 9mg.

Still too much flavor and TH for my liking.

So I now have 3 REOs coiled up at 1.9 ohms and its good vaping.

Lets re-cap
cut the flavoring
cut the nix by 6mg
upped the ohms by .8 ohms

And all that just to get back to what I feel is a great vape.

Weird.

It's still in the same place for me. I've heard others say that it's down on the left bottom where the "report" icon is. Weird that not all of them are the same.

Found it.. when i came back in it was there .. wierd

So an Update to my madness.. i did in fact rebuild my cyclone last night.. 5 wraps 26ga tight microcoil but i went back to KGD instead of the readyX and poof..flavorful fog machine again...which is funny because my RM4 is rocking readyX and i love it so it is probably just position of coil as was suggested(I need to pay more attention to where i place the coil relative to the deck.. thank you so much Reoville..
