Have not hacked up all the crud in lungs

Smoked 1-2 packs of camel lights a day for 25 years. Switched to vaping 4 months ago, and have not smoked a cig since.

Am I the only one who hasn't hacked up all the crud in my lungs yet? After a week of 100% vaping, I did hack up mucus from my lungs, but it was clear but very thick in consistency. After a week of hacking up clear thick mucus, it slowly stopped, and I don't hack up anything.

My question is why most people who quit smoking hack up mucus with brown nasty crud, while I had no discoloration in my lungs mucus.

Last week I picked up a chest cold where my lungs are generating mild amounts of lung mucus again, but it's also clear.

Why have I not hacked up all the bad stuff from my lungs yet?

I smoked a pack and a half of Camel Blue 99 (aka "Lights") for most of my 35 smoking years. No, I never hacked up anything after quitting, either.

Four explanations:

1. Camels are really good cigarettes and really good for you.
2. Coughing up black tar after quitting is an urban legend.
3. Hairballs.
4. ($$$) Other serious medical conditions are at play.

I smoked Camel lights, then switched to Pall Malls when they got too high, for over 15 years. I stopped smoking and started Vaping a year and three months ago, and I have yet to cough anything up. Not even when I first stopped smoking. Not even a small amount of mucus. My husband smoked for over 40 years, and he stopped smoking and started Vaping the same day I did, over a year ago, and he never coughed anything up either. Guess it's just different for everyone.

My lungs no longer feel like a flooded clearo, but I don't recall coughing up any discolored stuff. I think people are exaggerating when they say that.

I don't think so... not all anyway. I was a 2PAD Pall Mall smoker with allergies/asthma. I wheezed and had coughing fits waking me nightly... so bad one fit herniated a disk in my neck. Just sayin... it depends on what state you were in before giving up smokes as well as how fast you gave them all up... and, btw, if you go to smoking cessation forums, its common knowledge that the deep lung cleansing (not just the fairly immediate bronchial cleansing) may not begin for some until the 6-month point and anywhere in between... lots of reasons I won't go into.

I quit over two years ago. Haven't hacked up anything yet. Long term coughing with mucous is a symptom of COPD.
