Hello Everyone! Sorry, I posted this in another thread, but I thought it might be seen better here.

This is my first time in the VK section. I have been vaping for a little over 3 months, and have all the standard models: 901, 510, M401...plus a 510 Prodigy with an 801 adapter, and a 510 Nicostick. My problems are:

1) constant refilling or topups of carts
2) battery life that sucks (even on the Prodigy, to me)
3) inconsistent throat hit
4) flooding atomizers
5) hassle of trying ALL the cart mods (PTB, straw, PTB plug, tea bag)
6) leaking carts
7) poor flavors (especially on 510 and Prodigy)

I read the posts above on some of the benefits of the VK over the 510, and I need to know:

1) is the flavor in a VK as good as a 901 or 801?
2) is the TH comparable to the 510?
3) do you go through as much juice to refill cartomizers as you do the 510 (especially on the Prodigy)?

I get good TH on the Prodigy 510, but the flavor is lacking. Plus, I normally like to use carts, and the Prodigy is mostly for dripping. My 401 is OK for dipping, but I can't dip driving down the road or while working. My 901 has a three second cutoff (automatic ) that is aggravating...and my 401 goes off while I am walking with it (can you say DEAD BATTERY)! I have been trying to stock pile some things for the 510...so one more question- how long can you store filled cartomizers?

I know this is a long post, but I wanted some info and advice on the VK, before I decide to do any "switching"

P.S.- the die hard 510 fans will probably hate me, too :D

Welcome to the forum, Deeanne. Speaking from one who has also 'been there' (801, M401, 510), I can say, without pause, that the VK beats them all hands down! The flavors are the best I have ever vaped - good strong flavors that don't pooch out but stay with you all the way through the cart. Throat hit - in my experience, equal to the 510 without a doubt. And nothing goes through juice like that 510!! Holy crap - I got so tired of the constant topping off, dripping with that thing!! These cartomizers really last. I mean ... really last. No way do you go through juice with the VK like with a 510.

Trust me (and everyone else that is going to respond to this thread) you will NOT be disappointed if you order the VK. If you're anything like most of us, once you get it, the rest of your gear will either a) become a paperweight collecting dust b) get sold or given away or c) stick around as a gentle reminder that at least they did the job of getting you off or nearly off analogs and therefore deserve a place in your heart.

Steve and the crew at V4L are the ABSOLUTE best in customer service! There is no one better, I guarantee it. Steve truly does care about his customers, is always striving to create something better for us and ... did I say that he truly cares about his customers?

Again welcome to the forum and do yourself the biggest favor you ever will in your vaping world - order that VK kit. You will never regret it.

I read the posts above on some of the benefits of the VK over the 510, and I need to know:

1) is the flavor in a VK as good as a 901 or 801?
I haven't used those, so I know someone else will pipe in on that. It is much better then the 510.
2) is the TH comparable to the 510?
To me, the throat hit with the VK is comparable to the 510 when I was dripping on the atty, but without having to drip on the atty.
3) do you go through as much juice to refill cartomizers as you do the 510 (especially on the Prodigy)?
Again, I have never used the Prodigy, but I can tell you the cartos last easily twice as long as the carts on the 510, and that doesn't take into consideration all the dripping and topping off I was doing.

Watch the refilling video by KC and you will see that the cartomizers come with what we lovingly call ".... plugs" and "condoms" that help keep the cartomizers fresh.

You have to draw to activate the auto batteries with the VK. I have never had them go off without drawing on them. I switched to the manual batteries which I now prefer. The autos have no cut off that I have found, the manuals have a 5 second cut off which I have never hit. I don't think that the manual passthrough has a cut off, if it does I have never hit it.

Hopefully some of our more techy members will be able to comment on the comparisons, I can only comment on my experience with the 510. If you think of anything else, feel free to ask away - we love to talk about the VK! :)

Oh JenJen...I LOVED that video!!! Been there and done that. You ought to see my house. I have a whole bag of WM polyfill, 5 boxes of Fluval, 3 boxes of PTB, a whole bag of coffee stirrers....I have 2 complete tackle boxes plus 3 cabinets full of "stuff" that I have been using just on my 510! :D

My Prodigy....I also have "mashed" q-tips to clean out the adapter well, brass cleaner to clean the contacts....plus I have a contact case for dipping, etc. My house now looks like a hardware store (or a mad scientists' lab). All I wanted was an e-cig to give me:

1) nic satisfaction
2) great TH (THIS is what keeps me off analogs)
3) great vapor
4) low maintenance (haven't found that yet with ANY of them)

This isn't counting all of the battery chargers and cables.

I remember reading threads ,back when I first joined, about the cartomizers burning the filler...so I just kind of passed it by for the others- but I have been reading here tonight about all the success stories and enjoyment everyone is getting out of their VKs...plus what I call the "plug and play" aspect of it...no fiddling with carts, no atty cleaning, no fuss....that is why I am taking a hard look into the VK.

It is going to be another large outlay of my budget...but if it is as all of you say it is, I am almost sold. The only thing I worry about is the upcoming possible ban. How will everyone get their cartomizers and liquid?

That will depend on what strength you get. I get the 16 and it's perfect for me most of the time. I may need to get some 24mg though because I find that in the morning, I want an analog or two before I move on to vaping. Using 24mg may work better for me in the am.

2) great TH (THIS is what keeps me off analogs)
This was an absolute MUST for me. With my 510, I got great throat hit for 3-4 successive hits as long as I was dripping all the time --which I couldn't stand.

3) great vapor
I think the VK has great vapor, but it's not one of my must-haves, so I don't know what others would consider good vapor.

4) low maintenance (haven't found that yet with ANY of them)
Yes, the VK is pretty low-maintenance --well, for me anyway. Refilling is a cinch (if you want to go that route), and it doesn't get much easier than screwing a cartomizer on to the battery.

I was worried about that, too. But in the end, where there's a will, there's a way. :)

Hello JLeigh! I am like you, vapor isn't super important...but I HAVE to have TH, or I don't feel like I am replacing analogs. I also like good flavor...which I had with my 901, but no TH to speak of. My 510 gives me good throat hit, but loses flavor in the translation there somewhere. And using a 510 in the Prodigy makes it worse. Oh, I get GREAT throat hit with the Prodigy...but it kills the flavor. I tried using my 801 adapter with it....great flavor and vapor, but both atties died in the first week!

Whoever advertised that vaping is cheaper than analogs better go back and re-calculate! I have spent a TON of money on vaping in the last 3 months. I know it is supposed to even out later, but OUCH...right now it hurts.

Hi

Once you get the right one, it can be cheaper, I happen to own all the ones you have, add over 100 of em. I buy, and try pretty much everything. We modify the VK every single time to continually make it better. The Throat Hit is second to none, especially with the new manual battery's. The VK IMHO has both, the best Throat hit, and tast of ANT ecig out there, and when you learn how to puff it, has as good of vapor as most anything, with less hassle, and MUCH easier to use:shock:

Thank You

Steve

Watch some of the video's from cutomers, here on the V4L forum. We stand behind our products, and treat YOU, the same way WE would like to be treated ourselves:cool:

Yep, I know exactly how you feel. There's nothing more unsatisfying than feeling nothing more than....air. lol.

I don't know anything about the 901 or the Prodigy because I've never used them. All I know is that I can't stand to be fussing and fiddling with an e-cig when I need.my.nicotine. --which is what I was constantly doing with the 510. Not to mention all the flooded attys, the mouthfuls of juice, the leaky cartridge because I ripped the stuffing out so that I could get a better throat hit. Um, no. This is not my idea of a good time. In fact, I think I'd rather stick hot needles in my eyes than ever deal with a 510 again. (yes, yes, slight exaggeration, but not by much....)

It will be cheaper once you get the right PV. I was worried that going the VK route would be more expensive than the 510, but when I sat down to think about it for a few minutes, I realized that dripping fresh juice on an atomizer 3,472 ( ;) ) times a day adds up, and that doesn't even include purchasing atomizers and cartridges, blowing attys out with all the juice being blown out that is wasted, buying filler materials, etc., etc., etc. It all adds up. And, if you refill the cartomizers even just 2-3 times each, you'll be saving a decent amount of money right there. :)

Hello Steve, glad I get to talk to you. As you can tell, I am leaning toward becoming a new customer :D. I have just about had it with all the fiddling, fussing, leaking, tweaking, modding, prodding, messing....that I can stand! I have spent almost $1500.00 in the last 3 months with e-cigs, mods, atuffing supplies, mixing supplies, and now trying to "stockpile" for a possible vaping prohibition! All I wanted was something that would replace my analogs (NOT QUIT)...but with these other models, I am looking at trying to cut down to 0 nic to get by. That wasn't what I got into vaping for.

I don't know what Vapor4Life or others will do if the FDA bans e-cigs...but I guess there will be a way if you are determined.;)

JLeigh...I have had the same thoughts and problems. I thought the cartomizers are a little stiff in price, until I realized that they each have atomizers in them. That makes a difference. And the price for the liquid is comparable to other venders. My main problem is not having enough time left to get a lot of batteries and cartomizers before the judges ruling (possibly this week). I don't know how long it would take the FDA to totally shut suppliers down, but it seems to me that they have a good head start (i.e. Paypal, EBay, etc).
