There is one planned revision to these but it should not affect performance. Isaac is trying to have the top housing soldered to the threaded end due to issues some have had with the two pieces separating when removing a drip tip. Not sure when that's supposed to happen though.

I have had them pull apart when I used my homemade sleeves -- not the high-quality wharf ones....:thumb:

For a little history...

The IO6 = the IKV 306 rev. 3 and... if he ever farts with it, I am personally flying down to Pennsylvania, rip his arm off and beat him with the bloody end. :D

I believe if Isaac were to make any changes, it would only be an improvement. I don't know how it could possibly be improved, but if anyone could do it ...

I would support that statement 100%, however... Once you have attained you goal stop f...ng with perfection. I have been around this block so many times I own it. Yes that is a pretty conceited statement. However, I have also been around for damage control when a tweak went too far.

Why I was/am here is because of consistency not a promise. There is a lot of stock out there, but what makes us stick to IkenVape?

I no longer buy my 510s here! Why? Because the fans wanted something else. I am/was cool with that - my niche is elsewhere.

Isaac and I exchanged weekly so this will come as no surprise. :D

What don't you like about the new 510s? personally, I think they are great if for no other reason than the way they perform when dry -- I don't feel like I'm inhaling ozone and burnt wick. To me, that is great progress.

I never said they were bad, I just stated they are no longer my cup of tea. As juices atties are subjective.

I joined the Iken family 2 yrs ago because of the 510, he was the only vendor that offered what I was looking for and I became a loyal customer and still am, AAMOF as a vendor I stock his product. I am privy to info the avg Joe is not privy to. We are a long way from what his flagship atty was IMO, so there is no foul there on my part. He no longer carries the product I sought, it is really that simple.

Probably the best example of over tweaking was the 306, which went from a great atty to what I deem was a flop. OTOH that flop in pursuit of perfection led to the IO6, which as we all know was a great move. Outside of securing the atty to the base more securely (as Loftie stated), there is nothing wrong with performance, hence, once achieved, don't F... with it. The 306 OTOH is back to where it once was and once again a solid performer.

As a matter of fact during a convo one day with Isaac he mentioned he had come across 35 x 4.5Ω original 510s. I bought them all :) Why? 4.5 was closer to 5.2 than 3.5 was for 6V vaping. A little known fact some are not aware of, a higher resistance atomizer not only lasts longer (wire thickness) actually produces better than lower resistance counterparts at low voltages. Why? more coil wraps = greater heating surface.

With the advent of variable voltages and especially now variable power, the atty of choice for the widest selection of ranges is/would be the 2.5Ω anything.

I will close with a line that can be seen on my site The good of the many outweigh the needs of the few. Isaac no longer carries a variety of atties of certain resistances, there is no issue with that, folks wanted X and Y lost out. No foul there. It is nice to see a plethora of choices we once never had (26m ago) so everyone can find their specific niche to satisfy their individual needs :)

Folks are enamored with the Fusions, I gave them another whirl (haven't touched one since BETA testing them) since I stock them I gave them another whirl. Nope they are not for me :( The Gold V2 OTOH  Soooo, does that make all you Fusion folks wrong? Hell no! It just means that the Fusion does not suit my my vaping style :)

Ok Switcher my knowledge is not vast on this subject to be sure. You stated "a higher resistance atomizer not only lasts longer (wire thickness)". My understanding was a smaller diameter garden hose resists water flow more than a larger diameter hose and it's the same principle with current.

Or am I espousing false information ?

How would you guys compare this to the AVA Atomizer?

Well... they're two different types of atomizers. The AVA is made a little different, can't remember all the details but I would still go with the io6. AVA is far too expensive for an atomizer. And since I had my last io6 last literally months with all day every day use, it only stapled itself in my vape gear.

Only reason I ask is my local vendor carries the AVA. I was vaping a lot virgin vapor juices in it throughout the day and wasn't as surprised as I hoped. That's when I realized that the VV liquids were all standard flavor, which I could barely taste, and I totally forgot they were 100% VG.

What I took note of though was the fact that I would have ~$70 into io6s (4 attys, Siam Mods drip sleeve and a trippy tip) or $70 flat into a AVA with trippy tip. The AVA has a 1 year warranty and as far as dry atty, it's next to none.
