A bit of common sense goes a long way. Keep in mind Ecigs are STILL new. And no matter what you're doing, if it looks or resembles anything remotely similar to analog cigarettes, you will be asked to stop. The remotely similar part to analogs that ecigarettes have, is the vapor coming out resembles smoke. Steal vape in that case. Also, keep in mind that although it's not illegal to vape in public places, if they say stop, please stop. It's not illegal to have sex, but they would certainly tell you to stop if you tried it at Wal-Mart. Common courtesy comes into play.

My husband once suggested that I not vape in a rental car... Because he could smell the vapor....

Yes, because that apple smell that I was vaping would smell like a analog! Whatever!?!? I ignored him and told him that it was all in his head. Not to mention the fact that the person who owns the rental car place is a heavy smoker. No way would he smell anything.

I've been told to stop "smoking", by a co-worker who charged up to me from about 50 yards away to voice the complaint. She was out of breath from running across the parking lot where I work ...

I replied honestly that I had quit smoking months ago, and asked her if she smelled tobacco on my person or in the area ...

This is not someone intelligent enough to grasp the fundamental difference between smoking and vaping, and the same person who, in the past, has lodged a written complaint with HR about offensive smells from the men's room. I almost agreed with that one, but hey, I like burritos ... :D

I'm afraid I left this person very frustrated ...

I was vaping on the lunch patio at work. One of the senior partners busted out there like the building was on fire. "Is that a CIGARETTE??" I explained what it was and she was totally fine with it. I guess the guy who owns the building has a thing about ash. But since the e cig doesn't produce ash, she said it was no problem.

I was in a mall and stealth vaped ( no vapor/mist to be seen) but I was spotted by a "Gaurd" who saw me put my mod to my mouth and take a hit. He ran up to me and told me what I was doing was illegal. I asked if it was a state law or the policy of the Mall. He quickly replied it was a State law and went into a tirade about how it "should be" illegal to vape in public. Once he got finished with his delivery, I asked him once again " is it illegal to vape in this establishment and what state law is it you are referring to and why did you say it should be illegal if it is already illegal? He became flustered and walked away muttering things I cant repeat on the forum....

I vape at my work. My boss gave me permission to but a few weeks later said maybe I shouldn't d it any more because she didn't know how corporate would feel about it. We never heard anything from corporate and they can see me on live feed video vaping. So I still vape at work but I don't blow cloud after cloud I just puff one now and again. A coworker(she's a complainer) cried about my vaping because "it stinks because he mixing all sorts of flavors together". Yesterday I puffed one and she went crying to the boss about the stink. I took the drip tip off and asked her to smell it she was surprised that it smelled exactly like butterscotch candy. She hopefully will not be complaining any more. My boss wants me to find a nice setup for her cause she would like to quit smoking. Maybe I killed a couple of birdies with that stone.:vapor:

A lot of theme parks have restrictions on vaping just anywhere. Disney is one of the biggest and requires all vapers to be in smoking designated area's when vaping. Think to remember is non-vapers can only go by what is easily accessible to them as far as media goes. Thus far there has only been 1 news channel that has done any sort of positive report on vaping. Fox had a segment that showed the positive side and how government is using stupid tactics to make laws and restrictions. Remember its all about the children lol.

Luckily for me south florida has a very vast group of vapers and I have never had any issues vaping anywhere. most of the time im flagged down by a employee its to ask does it work and where should they get one. I also dont blow clouds when in public except at work half the employee's at my mall vape and 2 out of every 10 customer vape.

That's part of the problem with regulation train steaming down on us all. I am not advocating bans in any way, other then sale to minors, but at the same time, I do not vape anywhere I couldn't light an anolog. I feel this is a common courtesy and helps to not feed more misinformation by main stream media. Vaping in the grocery store, department store, or other venues you would not be allowed to "smoke" in gives the uninformed public the perception that the vaping community as a whole has no respect for non vapers. To argue law and property regulations IMO, only adds fuel to the fire of creating more bans.

Just my :2c: :vapor:

Although the amount if ingorance in the public is still staggering, I personally don't feel the need to vape in public. I can go a few hours without it when needed. :toast:

My local B&M has started distributing signs to show places that are vape friendly. Only place I've encountered that even cared was Applebee's. My tattoo shop, Wal-Mart the local mall haven't said a word. Hopefully it stays that way I don't like confrontation but I don't like having my freedoms stomped on either. Like most of you I don't blow huge clouds in public.
