My hubby and I started vaping last September, joined this site and have been happy with our Joye 510's. I haven't been back here but once or twice since then, and today I've been doing some serious browsing around.

Man, what changes in such a little time. More US suppliers, more RELIABLE suppliers, More people on here, new products, New BANS(grrr...)prices are down, knowledge is up, man, oh man, my head is spinning! LOL!

We are wanting to "move up" in the world of vaping, LOL! Before coming here today, based on what was "in" in Sept., I was thinking of a Protege or Prodigy, now I'm not so sure.

We don't drip, we refill our own carts. What do you guys recommend NOW? What's the next step to graduate to, Lol?

P.S. we aren't really interested in doing any mods, just not our forte.

P.S.S. I have missed you guys!

Welcome back!
Go for the Janty eGo. Battery life is 8-10 hours; no leaky carts because of a special "cone"; still use your 510 attys and carts.

This with some of the new low resistance attys. Cheap and reliably good "5V" hits. The Totally-wicked "Tornado" is the same as the Janty Ego, but with a little devil logo on the bottom.

I would recommend not getting an Ego/Tornado because you still have to buy proprietary batteries.
My opinion is that it is better to get a mod that uses inexpensive and easily obtainable batteries.

Of course, if you want to personalize it to the greatest degree, I would recommend a Chuck or a Little Chuck, but there are plenty of extremely good devices out there.

On the other hand, the Ego is small and sharp looking, and a good device from what everyone says.
So if you don't mind paying for the proprietary batteries then...

Now if only I could find that link to the comprehensive guide to mods.

I knew you guys would come through, LOL! Now, I'll be spending hours researching each of those, cuz I'm like that, LOL!

I really would like longer battery life, pretty satisfied on the "smoke" itself. Also, my hubby is going through atomizers like crazy! I don't know what he's doing, or not doing, maybe he isn't cleaning them good enough? Literally, some aren't lasting 2 weeks. We use PG, also.

I am signing the petitions right now. I'm getting some other family members, too, also. I've converted 2 of them to the ecigs already, and with a few more that are very interested.

One more thing, hubby is getting a nicotine test at work, for his health insurance, and they said if it comes up below a certain level they will consider him a "non-smoker', the questions ask if you use TOBACCO, not cigarettes! And he can honestly answer no to that. We'll see how their nicotine test comes back.....

Then you probably don't NEED to go with a high voltage mod.
So maybe focus on those that give a strong 3.7v experience.

The bigger the battery, the longer it lasts.
And as a bonus, it WILL give even more vapor, whether you need it or not.
:)

You probably missed the Highping dry burn method of cleaning atomizers.
http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/tips-tricks/69834-my-atty-resurrection-method.html

And using a big battery 3.7v mod will make the job SUPER easy.

I now think my 510 atomizer will last FOREVER, seriously.

DC2, thanks for that link. I'm trying it now....but I think I killed one. It looked like it had something gunky in the little thing and I took a toothpick and pulled it and I think it was the wick!

But, I've got a good one to compare them to, and the good one doesnt' have anything like that.

I'm taking pics so I can show you what I'm talking about. And is there a illustration anywhere of a breakdown of the pieces of an atomizer?

Yeah, that was probably the wick, and the good one should have one too.

There is, but I have no idea where I saw it unfortunately.

Welcome Back! I like seeing and hearing from members who have been at this much longer than I and are still happy with vaping. It gives me more confidence that my satisfaction will last and I will be able to stay free of tobacco smoking.
Glad your back - but I know nothing of Prodigy or Protege' as I use strictly KR808D-1's
Sorry.
