NOW! Ugh I recently quit and have been fine until today. I got my first istick 30w with sub nano tank it was an upgrade from my starter ego-t...anyway everything was fine till my .5 coil stopped producing flavor so I popped the 1.2 coil in but it sucks and I forgot to buy extra coils now I'm craving a cig just because I can't get things dialed in...ever happen to anyone else?

So weird because I was content when I first started vaping on the ego but got used to nice clouds and flavor with the .5 and now I'm ruined uh oh well. Local B&M opens in the morning...I can do it!

You should be able to produce decent hits with a 30 watt vv/vw device on a 1.2 ohm coil.

WTH?

Lacking info so can't give more help.

Perhaps it can. The 1.2 coil says 12-25 watts on it but the B&M said don't push past 13w? Sorry I'm new but if my coil says 12-25 isn't that it's safe range? I guess I could look it up on the calc

Depends on the gauge of the coil.

Got a link?

Basically, start low and dial up until it works. If you're at max and it still doesn't produce vapor, then the coil may be too heavy gauge wire, or you have a wicking issue or something. Also clean all threads to make sure you have good contact (but that's probably not the issue). Gunked coils perform poorly too.

IDK about the sub-nano tank and whatever coils you're using.

Thank you attypops

The issue is me and being so green at vaping. I'm just confused is all about people's various watt ranges verses what I have been enjoying and yes I should stick with what I like.

I've been reading the forums and am so surprised that so many people tank around 7-12 watts. When I was using the .5 coil I was loving 20ish good smoke big flavor. When I switched to the 1.5 coil I was told not to go to 20 so I can't get that sweet spot that I liked so much but now I'm a little confused that a lot of people love like 7 watts... I know there are many variables just wondering if I'm missing something

No fear though time will give me experience and I will find my way through it all :)

You can do this!
I know how hard it is...do see my little banner down there? I had to reset my little ticker this morning after letting those stinky analogs get the best of me :(
The temptation will always be there to some degree or another but like everyone has mentioned, ensuring that you have spare parts of EVERYTHING will help you, especially in times like this...
Try to focus your thoughts...don't let those nasty analogs get the better of you. You have come a long way my friend...hang in there.

p.s Journaling/blogging can also help and here at ECF you can start one...it's a great way to keep track of your journey, and vent on those not so good days.

So just to answer your 7-12 watts question. Higher resistance coils heat faster with fewer watts involved. And typically are thinner gauge wire. So firing one of these at 20 watts would be like vaping a cotton field. The coils basically heat up and glow as there isn't a way to wick them fast enough. The same thing will happen with a .5 ohm coil if you try to hit it with 50watts.

Your welcome hun and good for you for working through those cravings! :)
I'm fighting my way back trying to hit the 24 hour mark again...we both can do this.

Remember, the next time you go to the store to stock up on all the little things like coils, your favorite e-juice (that was how I stumbled this last time) and, if your only using the one tank, specially if it is glass, you may want to consider buying a spare one of those too.
I have my two nautilus tanks, including the base hardware and drip tips for those...BUT, just to be on the safe side, I keep my handy dandy Aspire CE5's & vivi Nova-S clearo's on standby...
ROFL..I dropped my Nauti this morning..it went flying right off my computer desk. I thought for sure I had broken it..thankfully not, but you just never know when those spares will come in handy and you will be thankful you have them.

Just want to wish you luck Zazozie, we've all been there.
You should see what I went through in the office to find cotton the other day (could have sworn I had some rayon stashed in my desk, nope!)

The back-ups for back-ups is no joke, for home and anytime you leave home.
My only complaint with vaping is it's sure not as easy as picking up a new pack or a new lighter at any store, at any time.
....but oooh the benefits :)

Thanks Emily I got tons of juice, extra glass tank, o rings, just not extra atty and coils but will get in the morning

I spread my budget far too thin by being out of control in the juice department :) can't stop buying juice although trying many aweful tasting juices is curbing that

I am completely with you on the nasty tasting e-liquids...this is exactly why I ended up buying a pack of smokes the other day when we went to town. My own concoction wasn't cutting it so i figured I would stop of at one of the local vapor stores while in town and buy another flavor to avoid 'lighting' back up..
it was the most HORRIBLE foul tasting e-liquid I had ever tasted, so much so that I ended up throwing up in the parking lot....and I paid $23 for it urrrrg.

Now I'm sticking to tobacco flavors without the extra fruity crap or additional flavorings....and call me a cheap skate, but I ain't paying $23 for e-liquid again either.

Ugh what a day! Yeah some of that was part of it for me today. None of my favorite juices tasted right then my coils etc it was the perfect storm ... I dumped a few tanks in frustration ... Don't think it's vaper tongue I've had similar from being an ex pipe smoker but yeah was just a crappy day to be a vaper in my house today but it's getting better...just nothing was enjoyable vaping wise in fact for the first time I was bored with it...kind of weird didn't see that emotion coming

Oh and glad to hear you smoked a cig but then got right back up. It's encouraging because I'm usually an all or nothing guy so if I smoked one it's over when it doesn't have to be that way as you are showing me so thanks
