I have the 3.5 ml DCT and really like them so I thought I would try the larger one. My first fill I added just enough to cover the feed hole and primed it through the top just a little bit. Then I let it sit upright on my EGO batt for a few minutes. No leaks so I filled it up over halfway and let it sit again for a little while. After 10 minutes it was leaking all over the batt. That frustrated me as I had not expected that.
That was a few weeks ago so tonight I tried it again but I used a known good carto and same thing happened. The only thing I can think of is that it may not be sealing to the carto the way it should.

Anyone else experience this?

Thoughts..??!!??

I have 6 of the madvapes DCTs. Dual Coil 510 Chrome Tank Cartomizer Same tank that you have and no problems with any of them. There are only two ways that these can leak. Either the o-ring/s are broken or the tank tube has cracked. There are four o-rings. Pull them all out and check them. If any of them look torn or are broken replace them.

Do you add an additional feed hole or enlarge the existing one? If yes have seen some posts that mention the centre channel could have been punctured. If not most likely a faulty tank.

I use the 3ml and 6ml tanks with the smoketech and only have a prob with minor leaking if I over fill the carto, or let my hubby use it.. the way he drags on it seems to flood the carto..lol.

The two ends of the tank are different. One end has an indent made especially for the flanged carto to sit in. Is the carto flange fully embedded in the indentation made for it? If not, that could be the problem. Make sure it's seated properly. Turn the carto while pushing up and it will fall into place.

OR, the carto could be flooded. Just blow it out from the drip tip into a paper towel. My DCT tanks have never leaked on me unless I flooded the carto. If you added a hole or made the carto hole larger, that could be causing the problem too by being too large. It would flood the carto and cause a leak.

No I don't have an extra feed hole; it is just a plain jane Dual Coil. So I took it all apart and examined everything. O rings - check, tube - check, top seal - check, bottom seal - carto does not fit in the indentation. It apears one of the flat sides of the indentation is slightly chewed up. I filled up again just enough to test and left off the EGO cone this time and yes it is leaking out the bottom around the flange where it meets the indentation in the seal. Just a thought but maybe the indent should be deeper.

Try replacing the O ring with the indentation with a new one. I've used cartos with a round flange on the 3ml that is designed to fit one with 2 flat sides, as well as popping the tank up to cover the feed hole when it does flood haven't had that issue of leaking from the area that you have pointed out. It sounds like the O ring may be to loose around the carto.

I'd see if I could return it for another one. All mine seat deeply in the indentation (almost flush with the delrin) and that not only prevents leaks, it stops the tank from turning on the carto when you're screwing it onto the mod. Contact the vender. It's defective. The flange should seat fully into the indent on the tank.
