I have been using PA flavors, with a pg/vg ratio of about 75/25, and also using ethyl maltol and sucralose but no matter what i do i always seem to have a burnt taste to my mixes without that strong candy like taste i get from some vendors. The only time i get a good sweet taste is if i use a fruit flavor mixed with something else but so far my choc, caramel, vanilla type flavors never turn out sweet.

I have tried using EM and/or sucralose with as little as a few drops per 2 or 3 ml, and as much as using all EM/sucralose for every drop of pg that i add (now i'm dissolving my EM and sucralose in pg instead of vodka). But still a burnt lack of sweetness taste.

Is there some trick of using just the right amount? Or maybe some other ingredient i'm missing like maybe vanillin crystals or the MTS vape Wizard thing? If someone could give me a sample recipe of Chocolate or Caramel and the amounts of what you used for 1ml or any amount i would be forever grateful.

My blueberry and banana comes out great and i'm assuming there's something in the flavoring that makes it sweet but i've had no success at getting a non fruit flavor to come out tasting like yummy candy. Thank You.

Also, Kimerpuff, if you see this...do you sell vanillin crystals?

I didn't have a 10ml bottle handy so i used a 5ml bottle and 1/8th of a teaspoon of EM crystals. You know i think my problems are all coming from the tank systems. When i use a carto or drip onto a 510 it always comes out better than using the ego tank or the 510 tank.

Also mixing with a flavor that has a sweetness to it already helps alot...i just mixed up some chocolate and it turned out ok but i added a couple drops of waffle to it...waffle always tastes sweet to me whether i add sweetener or not. My main goal is to get a good vanilla or vanilla mocha frapuccino type flavor and i think i'm missing something like whipped cream maybe. Do you know if whipped cream is sweet on it's own?

I just checked out the Flavor West website and if it tastes half as good as the logo they have then i'm sold. Only problem is now i have to go find a pack of that damn fruit stripe gum somewhere. When are you gonna have these flavors in stock?

If you could get ahold of me about the vanillin crystals that would be awesome. If you don't have my email or number just let me know and i'll pm you.

Thank you Kimerpuff

I have never added any sweetners to my mixes and I do not have these problems but you did touch on something. In most cases a friend that uses an ego-t and myself, mostly testing ego-t's, have noticed you loose a lot of flavor using their tanks. I just made a test 5ml batch of a flavor for him to test out. I bumped up the flavor percentage to 30% to see if this will bring it out or not. My normal mixes usually only have around 8-10%. I use Flavor Apprentice flavors from DIY. I prefer them due to most of their flavors having no coloring. I have only really tried FA and LorAnn's. LorAnn adds too much coloring for me.
I am an 801 dripper so I do not have these problems. If I make a sweet mix it comes out sweet.

That's interesting about the tank system. I don't use it, so I'm not as familiar with it's issues compared to a regular 510 atomizer. If the problem indeed is related to the tank, I would say that you may be stuck with vaping certain mixes out of that until they design a better atty.

As for the quickest and easiest way to sweeten liquid, the flavor apprentice sweetener is tough to beat. Ethyl Maltol does a decent job, but I've found that it has other properties to it than just a mild sweetener, so it's not always the best choice to sweeten liquid with.
