I think my lack of understanding about the types of wires is my issue. I will try the tips given tonight and if all fails I will email you bishop.

Finally found time to watch more videos and build a decent >< coil and got it too work. had to remove my to 3.2 batts for a aw 3.7 18650 to remove the burnt taste. Thanks everyone.
Bad part is I dropped the brass screw on tip under the ceramic section and gave up looking for it about 30 minutes later. Had another part that would work in a pinch.
