got my vt133 i love the mod except i have a small issue. i was trying to fire my petri rda (dual ka1 claptons/.6 ohms) @ 80watts and the mod kept flashing "ohms to high" this is the first time i've seen that message on a DNA200 (i have several). is there a setting i'm missing or i need to change?

The DNA200 doesn't step up voltage which normally isn't a problem since it was designed to use 3 batteries in series. With only 2 batteries taking into account voltage sag, your resistance is probably too high to deliver 80 watts without fully charged batteries.

watts = voltage^2 / resistance
Either dial down your wattage, decrease your resistance, or charge your batteries.

Cheers,
Steve

Thanks. I read somewhere that the voltage limit of the DNA200 is 6v when in 2S configuration, is this true?

That would seem to be the case. I did a search in Evolv's DNA200 Early Adopters Forum and found this thread that discusses 2s operation. According to John on post #9, the output limit is 6.0v. The thread is 14 pages long so I didn't read the whole thing. Here's the link if you're interested.

Cheers,
Steve

Edit That would mean you would be limited to 60 watts with a .6 ohm resistance load (6^2/.6=60). I was thinking about it after typing the post above. You probably already figured that out yourself, but just in case I figured I should add it. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news.

thanks for all the explanation, i really appreciate it. not really bad news per se, i mean i do have 3S DNA200 mods and i still love the VT133 i guess i just got thrown off by the message since i've never seen it before (which i should've expected given the difference in battery configurations)

I just received mine today (bought at FastTech for about € 100). First impression is absolutely great. But.... the user manual is far too limited. It indicates how to lock certain values and functions, but that's about it. How to switch from TC to power mode? How to choose the kind of coil? I still have no idea. I guess I can arrange lots of things through eScribe, but I guess one should be able to change functions and values using the buttons of the device. Does anyone have experience with it? Thanks in advance for your tips!

This should be basically it, marquee. This covers the DNA200 itself (with latest firmware). My VT133 should be here on Friday, but I already have two Reuleaux DNA200s. Your profiles are probably set for Ni200. You can use Kanthal on any TC, even Ni200. It will auto detect without problems. But you can also manually turn off TC by one click higher than 600°F.

DNA200 OPERATIONAL MANUAL

MAIN

Up/Down (5 sec) lock wattage or temp (Temp-Dominant dependent)
Up/Down (5 sec) then twice Up (or Down) to change Profile

LOCK (5 clicks)

Up/Down (5 sec) adjusts temp or wattage (Temp-Dominant dependent)
Fire/Up (5 sec) lock ohms
Fire/Dn (5 sec) Stealth/Normal
Fire/UD (5 sec) Change Material

Well I got my VT133 today and boy... they didn't set up anything. Batteries were set to 750mah I think and no case analyzer data (just the default settings). And it is much smaller in person than it looks on the big screen. But I just absolutely love it. My Reuleaux screens are far more blue in color. This one is more whitish. I did order two covers, one blue and one green from Gearbest for 5 bucks each.

I forgot to mention that you can get a far more in depth description of the DNA200 here. Also if anybody ever finds pictures or videos of the VT133 all torn apart, I sure would like to know about it. As I looked for two days online and I can't find anything. Hell I can see me getting another one of these. :vapor:

Well it bugged me that there are no pictures of the inside of a HCigar VT133. The screw heads look like hex heads and a 1.5mm hex fits loosely. And 2mm hex doesn't fit at all. But I got a Torx T7 to fit nice and tight to remove the screws. The two outer screws are really short and screws into plastic. The two screws closest to the DNA200 mod are really long and they do screw in the alloy case.

I was hoping it would be cleaner inside than it is. But it isn't really bad actually. That stuff on the plastic I think is super glue. On the right side you can see another board. I believe that is the reverse polarity battery protection. And the display ribbon isn't being flexed by the fire button.
