Hi,

I have an njoy e-cig and cigar version and also a Supersmoker. I don't think this e-smoking is for me. It leaves me with terrible headaches and an ill feeling like I've been inhaling paint fumes. Even with the zero nicotine cartridges I get the same effect. I don't even have to inhale the vapour to start feeling sick.

I am a vocalist in a band and these e-cig strip all the moisture out of your throat.

Has anybody else experienced the same side effects ?

Thanks,

St.

Yes and you are most likely reacting badly to propylene glycol. You might adjust, but might not. Why continue? I'd quit if I were you. But certainly don't smoke cigarettes either. There are MANY alternative nicotine sources if you need that chemical. Vocalists don't need to inhale to be satisfied. See the Alternatives section from the main board menu.

it makes my throat dry.. and alters my voice slightly.. i think the dry throat is common not the head aches and sickness thow..

bobs advice sounds about right.. not as i personally have ever found any other effective alternatives.. but if the glycerol stuff is having too much of a bad affect on u its a problem..

good luck with it..

I won't easily 'condemn' any e-smoke device: but please, first throw out that SuperSmoker (if you are within the guarantee-period: bring it back, ask for a refund: chances are very big that this device is only going to make you mad or sorry; and certainly poorer...); then see how it goes.

And yes, you cóuld be allergic to PG but that's really only a minority, most times there are other causes. For instance: you have to suck só darn hard on those SuperSmokers that your lungs almost turn inside out... that's bad for your veins too, plus for many users of this particular device their jaw- and neck-muscles actualy start to hurt soon using this device (all are possible starters for headaches)
As to PG getting your throat dry: that is a perfectly normal side-effect for the first week or few weeks with móst people starting on e-smoking; after that period of time it should slip away bit by bit. It does help to drink more then you usualy do when e-smoking, especially during the time you still see effects from PG.

The 'paint-fumes' could just be your having to get through the new period of your devices. If you are 'breaking in' 3 new devices at the same time... that could pretty much turn you off e-smoking indeed. Will mean you have at least a week (or more if you aren't a heavy smoker) of awful taste, before you have all 3 past that first period...

Then the 'feeling ill' in general: perhaps you are not taking into account that stopping with smoking tobacco (or severely lessening this) can cause quite a few symptoms during the first couple of weeks too? Those can last for 2 to 4 weeks. You are kicking the habit of inhaling 3000+ bad chemicals, even if you do still keep the nicotine... and that shows in your body (for some more severe then for others). Try to make the difference for yourself, what is happening because of e-smoking; and what is happening because of nót smoking tar and all the other chemicals: that could perhaps help a bit with your decisions on what route to take.

Hope you get this all solved, and will soon feel well... and then better then ever. :)

Where's Dr. Loi? This sounds right up his alley.
Sorry for late reply....been very busy since I came back from the holidays....

Seems like my Big Sis(katink) has answered the problem.....What silvertop experience is a common problem for all of us...and to add to his problem is that he's combining e-cig and analog cig together..headaches and nausea are pure signs of Nicotine overdose...dry throat and other ENT effects are primarily air inhalation as well as PPg effect...and to top it off again , silvertop is a singer..his vocals will suffer even more...my advise is get your throat checked..look for Singer's nodule or even pharyngitis..your throat might be under some form of inflammation..get it treated and better stop your e-cig also..you might have to use a good filter for your analog cigs(if you have to smoke).

Most of my patients does not suffer as severe as what silvertop has experienced but bear in mind..not all can use this product..one man's honey can be another man's poison...it still ain't perfect yet... ;)
