This is a portion of the article.

"Although studies on e-cigarettes are ongoing, the known risks are alarming. In an analysis of e-cigarette contents, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) found evidence of compounds used to manufacture antifreeze and other industrial products."

Will they ever stop regurgitaitng the same old deceptive line?

From the linked article:

“E-cigarettes deliver a high concentration of nicotine directly to the lungs, leading to a rapid drug spike in the bloodstream,” he says.

I call BS on that one if one is not going above their base nicotine level, that is. If I vape 6mg or even 11 it takes A LOT of serious heavy duty vaping before I even get a spike in heart rate. Now if I hit on 24 mg, something I'm not used to vaping, it takes less time (I'm sure if I smoked a cigarette the effects would be even more great). But to say that as a general rule there is a rapid spike in nicotine levels I think is very misleading, in my amateur opinion...especially if one is still smoking cigarettes.

Once again just my :2c:. I don't buy that.

OMG - I was just reading this article. My mom sent the link to me (with an email stating "more controversy"). This "Dr. Wade" sounds like nothing more than a shill for BP and their "FDA-approved" products. Their efficacy is less than, what, 10% I think? Drives me crazy! This is why I joined casaa.org! I can't stand all the lies being propagated by so much of the media and government!!

Doesn't our government have anything else to do? How about they post their manufactured findings on the ingredients in juice against the ingredients found in BT products and let people decide for themselves? Oh, ya, right... Anyone else thinking Propaganda? I thought that the US was a democracy "of the people, for the people" What a joke. We are going to be owned by our government.

Regarding your article on e-cigs containing a component of anti-freeze as regurgitated from the FDA, it would be nice if you investigated that Propylene glycol, the chemical the FDA and your article refer to, has been approved by the FDA since 1940. Water is also a chemical component in anti-freeze, do you assert that it is dangerous too? Propylene glycol has been used in pharmaceuticals (some inject-able) in hospital air to keep down infections i.e. lung transplant patients, smoke productions for stage & movies, soaps, shampoos, cosmetics, on and on we could name products containing Propylene glycol! If you were really interested in public health, you would investigate how many people have quit smoking tobacco cigarettes with the 4,000 carcinogens inhaled when smoking those! I much prefer the freedom of choice to continue using e-cigs. I quit smoking tobacco cigarettes (after 40 years) in 3 days, and I'd rather fight than switch back!

Here is a reply to my post:

Congratulations!! You have stirred the great and powerful Electricman, and felt his wrath.
He is a funny little troll that watches this forum and posts on any article we talk about.

It has yet to be determined what his problem is, or why he is such a lying, truth-bending little ..........
But he is good for one thing, and that is firing us up and making us come together to refute his propaganda, lies, and distortions of truth.

What the author didn't deduce and the doctor didn't mention is that is exactly how a cigarette works, and the reason ecigs work so well at helping people quit smoking cigarettes, and why so many of the other fda approved cessation drugs do not work. None of us are addicted to taking a pill or putting on a patch.
