Blimey - that's nuts! I vape all the time when my Janty Stick is plugged into my laptop's usb port - because that's what it's designed to do! WHY NOT use it as a passthrough? It IS a passthrough! My sainted aunt......:)

I'll have to talk to Wayne about that ;-) It may very well be a 'vendor protection line' so someone doesn't say - he said I could vape in my car... etc. fill in the scenario - CSI on the scene, etc.

I know that the usb plugs that they sell and most other places (that don't have the 1 amp plugs) say that they are only to be used for charging:

AC-USB adapter with US plug for USB charger - Spare Parts - Wholesale & Retail Best E-smoking Supplier=

"Can't fit most USB passthroughs except for the Joye510 model."

The 'can't fit' is a translation thing - the usb port fits all usb plugs but the point here is that they are recommending it not for a passthrough - for one thing it's a 500ma charger and a passthrough needs 1 amp to run proficiently - except the 510 which has an inline batt.

I know you asked Kent,, but I could try to explain

charging a battery 500ma(miliamps) is a sufficiant about of current
a PT usually needs 1a(amp)of current to operate like it should

a lot of usb chargers are below the 1A mark so wouldn't really do anything for a PT.... but there are USB chargers that put out that and above in current to satisfy the needs of the PT

if it doesn't say 0n the charger the amp OUTPUT and you have a PT that you know works... if you plug the PT in the charger and it doesn't seem to work... the problem is most likely the current.

I hope this helped...

EDIT: But for the JS I think 500ma should be enough because it is actually charging the battery (trinkle charge) and not actually operating directly by the usb power....

Someone can currect me on that... but I do think that is the case

Very clear lightgeoduck, thank you for the explanation.

So let me get this right, I suppose that the Joye Stick works like the 510 passthrough right?

then what I would like to know is when it's connected to my usb port and I'm vaping the battery is giving me the power to vape while the usb port is charging the battery cause the usb port can't give me enough current??
