Heinous burnt taste on brand new joyetech egrip

yeah so today I ventured down to my local ecig retailer and bought an egrip, filled it up with cozmic crunch 12mg and it was vaping very nicely and then about ten tokes in, it started getting a char grilled sort of taste, sometimes its nice but mostly ....e. swapped out the coil, same thing happened. on my atlantis and kanger nano I prime the coils the way that you're supposed to, but these here egrip coils are not as straight forward.

anyone know the cause and the solution to my problem?

You prime them pretty much the same way: drip several drops into the holes in the coil, install in the egrip, and let stand for a bit. Never had any problems with mine that way

My replacible coils work okay but using the add on RDA is great. Order one and see.

Did you clean the tank out well before using?

Swordsbeer, I get your drift. Until I learned to clean tanks, cartos, RBAs, etc. before using about half tasted nasty the first filling. I'm guessing it's the manufacturing oils and/or cleaning solvents used in some.

A few drops of dishwashing detergent in hot water, followed by a good rinse, will clean up metal parts well. Allow to dry completely. Anything to do with wicks or stuffings I like running through an ultrasound jewelry cleaner in plain water. Again, allow to dry before using.

also if you are chain vaping, allow a bit of time to rewick. Priming coils is important, but also how long you draw and the voltage/wattage you set it at. Try reducing your vv/vw and take a shorter draw. Usually if you are getting burnt hits the wick either cant keep up or the vv/vw is too high.

Are you using the cs coil head or the rba ?

If your using the rba coil, you might be using too much wick. It plugs up the inlet holes and you will dry burn.
