I owned an authentic helios that I accidentally fired for a few minutes, fried the insulator around the center positive post.
Bought an EHPRO and an hcigar Helios clones as replacements.
Nothing but problems... The EHPRO helios doesn't have an adjustable contact pin, but the insulators are in good shape.
My problem now that I need some help with is the HCIGAR Helios. The center post fits into what looks like a delrin insulator that is threaded inside for the adjustable copper atomizer pin. The center post and insulator that surrounds it keeps rising up inside the atomizer, it isn't staying in place. When I push the center post down from above the insulator will pop into place briefly allowing the mod to fire properly. I think the inside of the insulator below the center post might be stripped, the adjustable contact pin moves up and down freely.
Any advice here? Is this common with some of the Helios clones?
Second question, i use thick wire and sometimes braided, are there any RDAs out there that are more compatible for quad coils? (I know I can drill the helios post holes but am wondering if there is another RDA out there I can try that is easy to build on and takes quad coils easily.
