I was wondering how long it took for some people to get of I guess you guys call analog cigs.
I seen something about a 501 I know nothing of this but here in Canada I have found 2 different ones, 1 I really don't like the taste of it supposedly is only good for 3 to 5 recharges called a Q e-cig black usa/18 mg the other one I found is called just an E-cig with disposable filters that my friend sold me some juice for I just found a dealer who has different models and flavors so I can try different ones now.
I find I am having a hard time swapping completely to the vapor although the one I really enjoy the taste of more then my analogs.
Sometimes it feels like I am not getting the relief that my analogs give me but since yesterday when I started I have only smoked about 8 analogs and that was mainly because both batteries needed recharging.
Recharging these batteries does anyone know if you can charge for a bit take them off and put them back on or should you wait for a full charge?
I am all over the place already anyhow I wanted to introduce myself and ask a few questions I am sure I will be around quite a bit reading and asking since as I said us Canadian just got them well we may have had them longer but they just reached us here in northern Ontario where the snow is still melting. lol

Hello and welcome to ecf.
The main thing you want is the ecig nic to be strong enough to wipe out cravings for analogs. There are lots of models, (not disposable) that will give you a charged battery for all day, if you want....
20% off your whole order!
This is a really quality vendor that ships to canada,,,, have a look see around his site, if you see something you have questions on, come back and ask.
of course, there are many vendors, but this one stands out.
:)

Hi and welcome to ECF. Congratulations on making the switch!

I will echo Sugar_and_Spice's post above when I say that it's important to make sure that you're using an ejuice with a high enough nicotine content to satisfy your cravings. You mentioned that one of the ones you tried was 18mg that you didn't like -- what was the nic content of the juice that your friend sold you? Once you determine that, you might want to level up a bit to see if that helps with your cravings. Maybe 24mg is what you need to get started.

Get your post count up to 5, wait an hour and then you should be able to visit some of the other forums...there is a Canadian forum here as well!

Welcome to ECF Gat. And CONGRATULATIONS on deciding to use E-Cigarettes and finding an outstanding (IMHO) resource four there proper use and care. There sure are allot of different brands out there but it all comes down to what atomizer they use. As for still smoking, don't get discouraged. There are lots of us who still smoked ( tho not as much ) when we first started vaping. You got to find YOUR sweet spot. ( Nicotine saturation level ) and flavor that provides the most smoking satisfaction for you. In time, and a little effort from you, you will get there.

As for where to get your supply's here is a link Forum Suppliers - Sortable List

As to the question of topping off the charge of your battery's. Yes you can. Lithium-ion battery's do well with a top off charge and do not develop memory effect like Nickle based battery's do.

Any way enjoy the journey and ask questions

here is a good start for beginners http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...buying-using-electronic-cigarette-primer.html

How long it took us to get OFF analogs? It was immediate for me.

Are you buying disposable ecigs? You should buy a non-disposable ecig like a 510 or something with a longer lasting battery, blank carts and eliquid. And I also recommend you choose an ecigarette with manual batteries and blank cartomizers available. Most people find cartomizers less annoying to use than atty+cartridges.

Re cartridges - they do not hold much liquid, and prefilled ones are usually lightly filled. You need eliquid to add more liquid to the carts.

BTW - there is a whole Canada section on ECF. After you have 5 non-spammed posts/replies in New Members and wait about an hour, then you can post elsewhere on the forum

That's because it's not just the nicotine in tobacco we are addicted to. There is much evidence to suggest that other alkaloids and MAOI's in tobacco work with nicotine to give us that "just smoked a cigarette" feeling we all get. Since E-cigs do not have these other alkaloids, we need to try to get them from other sources to help our cravings.

This thread contains info about those other alkaloids and MAOI's and many other related links on this info.

http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...end-quit-smoking-e-cigs-do-you-find-also.html

Read the thread and follow all the links to fully understand what these alkaloids and MAOI's are, why we are addicted to them, and where to get them to supplement your e-cig experience.

Also, try to find the level of nicotine your body is comfortable with, without having to get stronger nicotine to try to force a "buzz". With e-cigs we tend to vape more than we smoked because we do not get as much nicotine in each puff as with cigarettes. If you switch to a higher nicotine, you could easily make yourself become more addicted to the stronger nicotine. It would be better if you didn't raise your nicotine level or if you lowered it instead, and then just tried to vape more often as well as supplementing your experience with alkaloids and MAOI's.

Don't worry if you don't give up analogs right away. Some of us make the switch immediately, but for some, it takes a while. I bought two packs of cigs the same day that my 510 arrived. I smoked one pack over the first week, then one analog a day for a couple of days. Then one day I realized that I hadn't had an analog for 2 days. I panicked - like "OMG, I'm not smoking! I can't quit! I NEED my cigarettes!". I lit up an analog, it tasted awful, I put it out and gave the rest of the pack away. That was 43 days ago.

Find the equipment and juices that make you happy and comfortable - ECF is a great resource for learning about the options and vendors - don't give up or feel guilty because you smoked a cigarette (think of how many you are NOT smoking), and you'll be able to walk away from the stinkies.

I am now completely analog free yay I had a few cigs for the first 6 to 7 days not many was worried that I wasn't going to be able to get off the analogs but I did it. I am finally off them my father is happy he has wanted me to quit since I was 12 or 13 I am almost 40 now.

Thank you all I am so glad I found this forum it's nice to have people be happy for you when you are able to quit something that has been so hard and a crutch for so long it sure is nice to be rid of them I have tried everything I mean everything hypnosis all nicorette products the works my one Dr. has told me that quitting smoking for me is 10 to 20 times harder for me then regular people I am ADHD so he says the cig's actually calm me down and that's why I don't need high does of Ritalin in order to be normal through the day in any case I see him in a few weeks and can't wait to show him my ego and show him I am off the cig's everyone is so happy for me including me thanks again for your support and praise.

Glad to hear you are kicking the evil habit!

It took me about 4 weeks to finally decide that vaping was going to work well enough to try going completely without cigarettes. Another 2 weeks of just having one or two a day. I got all freaked out if I didn't have at least a partial pack of cigs with me - "just in case". LOL. For nearly 3 weeks now I have not had a single cigarette and I just smile as I go by my favorite gas station where I used to get my analogs. There's still a couple of old cigs laying in the bottom of my briefcase. Forgot they were even there. I won't be needing them anymore!

I'm currently using an eGo style, 900 mAH batteries with cartomizers from Mad Vapes. Made a huge difference getting a quality PV to finally be free of the stinky sticks. Sounds like you've made a good choice too!

Welcome and congratulations on kicking the cigs to the curb. The title of your post made me step back and think. Too bad that you have always "had the right" to use tobacco when of age, but just now "get the right" to use e-cigs. Better than in Australia where they ban e-juice.

Anyway, welcome again. Batteries: You can charge em for a bit and take them off. It's charging that wears them out though. However, a partial charge is, as I understand it, a partial wear out. So it mostly levels out (give or take a small %).

Vaping is different, and you will still have some minor withdrawal from tobacco since it has 4000 other chemicals in it. If you hang in there, you I think that you will find vaping is a much better alternative. You may also need to adjust your nic level.

Good Luck!
