between here and there
1. My husband was able to draw a pull; had vapor. I let it charge a couple hrs; took a pull and no vapor. Played with it a little, got one pull with vapor, nothing else. I have let it charge a little more; tried again got one pull w/vapor then nothing (dry pull?). So, not sure if it's the batt or something else.
2. Yes it is Ego style...with button.
3, Yes, button lights up for all normal reasons it should i.e. pluggin into charger, holding button down, touching button etc
4. The brand is definitely GG1. But links>> this is exact one I got>>> Vaporizer Pen -Vape
^^ looked at link...2 differences with mine the mouth piece is black tapered (like the Ego) and my charger does not have the trademark; but the batt does.

Are you allowing the battery to charge completely? You should allow it to charge to full. The lights should tell you when it is done charging. Depending on how deleted the battery charge was/is, that may be the reason. Also, when putting the clearomizer/cartomizer/ atty on do not over tighten it as you will push the center pin down on the battery further hampering the connection.

Let us know how its going.

:)

Maybe something to do with the clearomizer. You filled it up with e-liquid, right? Sometimes you get liquid down the center post and it gets on the battery. If you clean that off and blow through the top of the clearomizer onto a paper towel, see if you get any liquid on it.

HA! you may have hit the nail on the head!! I did not fill it; my husband did and I was concerned because we did not get the needle thing to insert the e-juice from the bottle...so he just put it in directly from bottle; it may have gone into that middle part...I blew through it a couple times and ....voila I have gotten 3 solid pulls...just out of curiosity, since you're not supposed to get the liquid down in there; does it mean it's ruined? should I just buy a whole new cartridge? or if it's pulling now, will I be ok??

It seems that it is possible that AmandaD may have hit it on the head although I was also tightening it quite a bit too...I am getting good solid pulls now :D yay!! I did pose a question to her though..."since you're not supposed to get the liquid down in there; does it mean it's ruined? should I just buy a whole new cartridge? or if it's pulling now, will I be ok??"

That battery is an inexpensive clone (sorry, but I mean a POS) but what may be happening could be poor electrical connections where the clearo screws on to the battery, or where the atomizer head screws into the post inside the clearo (if the clearo comes apart and the heads are replaceable. some do and some don't on those ce4 clearos) If that is not the issue I would attempt to take it back if purchased locally at a vape shop, or try to find a vape shop close by and they can give you some hands on training for it.

Sorry, but I was hopping it was just shut off (some times my finger will "stutter" and turn my battery off)

Sounds like you are good to go. Liquid will alway get down in there. Just take a q-tip and gently clean it out and wipe the outside threads also if using a clearomizer that threads to the outside. If it has a button to push(which from your description it does) that means it is a manual battery and it is sealed so no liquids actually get any further than what you see.

:)

haha, I was describing cleaning the center pin on the battery. Should have went back to read amandad's post. Yes, blowing it out is just fine. You did not ruin anything.

It appears as though liquid got into the center post when the hubby filled it for me and it caused an issue; been getting good pulls now for a bit with no issues. All the parts are replacable...not trying to break any rules here...but the hubby works where this particular brand is sold, but they sell all types of "smoking accessories" for yeah, you get it; and they have the separate parts too...but I will also be checking out that local vape shop near me, because I want to try some different flavors and a higher nic level. Thank you so very much for all your assistance. I am on my way. I hate smoking outside (it's so much worse on so many levels) also... I like your avatar photo very much...Rocky Horror is an all time fav of mine ;)

Glad the problem is solved! I felt like an idiot when I put a clearomizer on a different battery and wondered why it wouldn't work - it was the wrong battery with a different connection LOL If you can't change the coils in that clearomizer just wash it out with warm water every few days. I soak mine in denture cleaner overnight and leave it to dry - they come out sparkly! You"ll need to buy some spares though - lots of them! If you change the coil you'll get much longer use out of it (change the coils only when necessary).

Ugh!! Temporarily fixed...kinda frustrating when you're trying to smoke less...I am taking it back to my hubby's boss I am pretty sure at this point that it is defective. So tomorrow hopefully will be fixed and I will be more fully on the road to smelling and breathing better. Again, thanks for all the support!

Welcome Dorkpixie,

Definitely get backups. I made the mistake of not having backups for the first couple of weeks. Something broke and I was at a remote location. Panic!! I ended up buying a pack of stinkies. yuck. Learned my lesson.

And once you cut down the cigs from the vaping you are going to feel quite a bit better almost immediately. It's pretty cool actually how fast it happens.
Good luck.

top coil clearo. Shake it or invert it to wet the coil at the top; Looks like a standard CE4 type so when you invert it, a little liquid might want to leak out.

I think bottom coil tanks are easier for people to start off with.

===edit===
ok, just noticed problem now solved; you have to get the wicks wet, not the center tube;

You should get some EVODs I think; easy to use I hear.

Hi and welcome!

You're on your way to being smoke free! :toast: After 40 years of smoking, I have been smoke free going on a year and a half due entirely to vaping. I feel much better and haven't had a coughing fit since I started. I also don't clear my throat all the time, which I didn't realize was smoking related.

As others have said, getting good equipment and becoming familiar with it is essential. There is a learning curve, but it's not too steep. Bear in mind that for the most part the gear we use is mass-produced and QC is iffy. I've found I get less frustrated by keeping my expectations low. If the little tiny plastic thingy I'm using falls apart, it was expected; if it lasts a long time, I'm filled with glee!

Good luck to you and your husband.

I agree with edyle. Bottom coil clearomizers are easier to deal with. If liquid gets into the center, it's a tad easier to deal with plus the coils are easily replaced, so the unit will last much longer. Evods are a good choice to get started. I have 2. I like the mini protank 2 and the protank2 2 the best, maybe down the road. They're made of pyrex and metal and produce a great flavor. One thing at a time, one step at a time, one day at a time. Vaping bliss. Good stuff.

Rocky Horror? what is Rocky Horror? That picture was taken at my friend Frank's house by my sister Magenta in 1975 dammit Janet, er, I mean dorkpixie.

Has your hubby noticed a lot of customers talking about moving to Colorado? (no prescription needed after the first of the year)

I know from experience how hard it is to quit smoking and I did it with switching to PV's. I had the same issue as you not knowing what to do or try but I found a company called Dropsmoke that really led me in the right direction to help me quit. They have locations in NY and NJ that you can go o and they will help you out in one on one. They also have their website that dropsmoke.com that you can see all their products.

You did a great job by coming to this forum you will learn a lot about PV's here. All I know is that I would still be smoking cigs if it wasn't for Dropsmoke! Good luck and let me know if you need any advice.
