why I am taking up vaping: I'm 35, a pack a day smoker... been smoking since I was 17. I know all the bad health risks, but they simply hadn't been enough for me to quit. Last month, I went to stay with my boyfriend's parents for a couple of weeks. No indoor smokers there... so when I unpacked, everything reeked. I started researching e-cigs, and I finally made a decision.

Before I start on what I purchased, I do plan in the near future to go with an eGo. The nicotine addiction makes it hard enough, but the oral fixation and ritualism of the smoking itself are just as bad... so I wanted something that was cigarette-like, and I ultimately decided on the Halo G6. It is supposed to be delivered tomorrow. I went with the manual batts and a PCC, the prefilled carts with the Tribeca juice, and a sampler pack with some of the menthols.

My only experience as of today is bumming a few "hits" from my sister's disposable Blus. I'd say they were good for what they were, but not something I'd want long-term. I'm hoping this is enough to get me off the Camels.

Best of luck with your new kit! Everyone that has the Halo G6 seems to be extremely happy with it! I really hope you are too. Finding the right juice is harder than finding the right pv sometimes. I got really lucking and liked the first juice I tried. Hope you will too!

Don't pressure yourself! I never intended to quit, but once I got my pv I knew it was possible. Eventually I found I really liked vaping better. And I definitely don't miss smelling like cigarettes.

I completely agree, for me the ritual is a huge part of it and I wanted something small and portable that had the feel of a cigarette. I have had the Halo G6 for a week now, and I think you will enjoy it. Halo has very good customer service, and the orders I have placed early in the morning have shipped the same day. (And since I live 10 miles away from them I receive them next day  ) The batteries tend to last me between 3 and 6 hours depending on use. Although I have 3 batteries and I tend to charge them before they run really low.

As for the juice I have only tried Tribeca (which I've been liking) and Malibu Menthol which I didn't like at first but it is growing on me. As a menthol cig smoker the menthol juices didn't really replicate the taste and honestly I prefer the different tastes. (Vaping a nice cherry flavor now)

Anyway, hope you enjoy the G6 as much as I have been and hope you can quit the cigs!

Woot, quick responders! And all so supportive. I am glad I found this place, because it was a great help in deciding what to go for. Good luck to you too, Bethzilla. It's nice to see that it is possible to quit with these things and not only use them to supplement my nicotine. Now, off to search to see if I can find juice locally.

Welcome and congrats! I am one of those Halo G6 lovers, so I think you will like it! They have an easy draw, very warm vape and are lighter in weight than other I tried, so will give a close to analog smoking experience. I love Prime, Tribeca and their Menthol Ice and Cool Mist. I also use their Freedom which I mix with Prime and Torque which I mix with Tribeca. Anyway I don't think you can go wrong with a G6, I use mine everyday and I just got a GLV super mini mod I also love, but G6's I still use for that real smoking experience :) They are great for a slim ecig. Have fun and enjoy! bnrk

Thanks, bnrk. Glad to hear you like the G6. I can't wait to get it and play around with different juices and such. Also, that really sweet looking thing in your avatar, is that the GLV you mentioned? Once I get more into this, for lack of a better word, hobby, it'll be fun to try new things. Right now, mods and whatnots that everyone mentions... they almost look scary. Intimidating I guess is a better word.

Well I was really hooked on the G6, vapes at 3.4 v I think?? So I wanted to go to 3.7v and looked and looked and finally got the GLV 2 super mini, it is fabulous as I get more flavor hit. BUT with mods you can't hold them like a cigarette and to me I still need that fix of holding a slim ecig like a cigarette, so I use my G6 daily as well, about 50/50 use time for both. So when you want to upgrade I recommend the GLV, lifetime warranty, the little thing is tough as nails and will last forever. But for a real slim smoking experience, I still like my G6! bnrk
