And... Hi.. =)

Bought a 510... not impressed, being from canada and no nic juice.. =/
I will be ordering an ego tank tomorrow...

As for personal info, I started smoking when I was 18.... Quit twice... 1st was 3 years... started up
again, quit again many years later for like 3 months.. I need this... It's the habit that has me
locked up... Did the patch, tried the gum... I need this system.. but need nic also... damn
lame canada health... anyways.. I don't want to rant my first post..

Hello all,

=)

Go ahead and rant away! When it comes to E-cigs, it's a hobby for us Canadians. But there's E-juice available from within the country. Not a lot thanks to Health Canada, but there are vendors. I order from the US and so far haven't had any problems.

Welcome! This is definitely the place if you need info on hardware, juices, where to buy, and anything else you might want to know.

Thanks swedishfish, and yes.. I watch so many vid's on youtube about e-cigs, and I watch the vapor they put out, and talk about this elusive "throat hit..." which I imagine is nice.. My 510.... had one atomizer dead on arrival, the plastic len's at the end of both battery's fell off... so I hold my pinky against the ends now.. and push the blue led back in.. since it wants to crawl out..

My first foray into e-cigs was a failure... So i buy cigs... and continue down this .... road... of weakness... wake up coughing in the night... ect.. I'm shure you heard it all before...

I'll order the ego tank.. and hopefully can get a decent vape... and If I can find a place here in Canada to get nic juice...
I want to stop smoking... I have to... no other choice... So i'll make an effort with e-cigs..

thanks for your reply.

Actually, thanks all, your posting replys faster than I can respond to the 1st post =) but for the canadians, does the player's e-juice taste like players??? My bro smokes export... I've always been a players dude... I spent a summer in Ontario working for the Richardson's family, getting their cabins ready on the lakes.. I would take a boat on lake of the woods to Two Bears Marina, and buy 200 cigs for like 23 bucks from the reserve... they were a good smoke.. tasted like players... awe... memories... running out of gas in the middle of the lake... but I had a bag of smokes...

Well, the thing to remember is that tobacco-flavoured E-juice doesn't actually taste like smoking a cigarette. It's designed to taste like chewing fresh tobacco. I learned that the hard way when I first started, too. So really, the only differences in taste between different tobacco-flavoured juices is whether it's sweet, dry, earthy, etc. I'm not much of a tobacco juice kind of guy, even though it's what I started with, so I couldn't tell you if it tastes like a Players. I've seen a variety of Canadian brands in E-juice -- Players, DuMaurier, B&H, Export A -- but I'm guessing there probably isn't a whole lot of difference between them, if there's any at all.

Thanks Mindfield for the reply, The juice I got with my kit was sweet, well.. still is I guess, was hard to get used to at 1st, But it's that throat hit I'm missing...

I see coffee flavors, even bacon flavours... which im shure is more healthy than actual bacon. I will go with the ego-t... because
from the vids, the vape looks amazing. My 510 is lame... A good started kit I imagine.. If I would have known how weak it was
I would have bought an ego-t.. but again, The 510 might be great, with nic... Still.. the battery's don't last long... at least
my impression.

Trust me on this one: Do not get bacon. It is not bacon. It isn't even in the same area code as bacon. It wouldn't know bacon if it oinked. Once you get 5 posts (one more) you can see my review of one vendor's bacon here (as well as 14 other flavours).

The 510 is acutally pretty good if you get a decent cartomizer. I hate it with the cartridge and atomizer though, so I can see where you're coming from. Get a nice Boge 2.0 ohm LR 510 cartomizer though? World of difference. You're right about the batteries though, but there's always a personal charging case (PCC). I still use my 510 alongside my eGo (non-tank, using the eGo Mega dual coil cartomizers). I've tried both tank systems (A and B type) and really didn't like them at all. They didn't work well for me -- and I really did give them a shot. 7 A-type and 4 B-type tank atomizers later and I gave up on completely. That doesn't mean it won't work for you though, loads of people love the things. But I need a bold throat hit and they didn't give them to me. I never tried the LR tank atomizers though, but I was sick of those fussy wicks. At some point though I'm going to try re-wicking my tank atties with some proper silica rope and see if they get any better.

Give them a shot though -- personal experience is important with E-cigs. It helps you learn what works best for you, and if the tanks do it for you, awesome. I loved the idea of the tanks in theory, they just didn't give me the TH I needed, even with strong juice.

Thanks Mindfield, but most of the things you just said, sounded like a formula to me for making an atom bomb =P
But i'm shure I will understand it all in time. What I was trying to say is that im open to different flavours, other than tobacco, as long as I got or get the nic throat hit. Im using the tea-bag mod on my standard 510 carts, they do offer more vape.. but
again, it's an empty vape... I'm very open to flavours... And im shure i'll try many, once I find a nic provider.. All I want in the end is healthy lungs, and to help them on their way to being healthy. I know i'll understand it more through experience.

Absolutely -- it all takes time, no doubt about that, but you'll pick it up. :) The important thing for you right now is to find some good juice. I don't know what strength you're vaping right now but it sounds like you need to bump it up a notch or two. I vape 24mg juice and it's pretty much right where I need it to be. Perfect throat hit for me, bold but not harsh.

I've done the PTB mod in the carts. They worked okay but I found they imparted a mild but noticeable flavour to juices. Once I switched to the eGo Mega carts I just used the filler it came with, they worked great that way.

Mindfield, Im Vaping 0mg, vg juice in my 510... it's where I started, Hopefully I can get the 24mg here in Winnipeg to keep me vaping, I hope for better things when I get my ego-t. =)

And @Pokerchix, good god girl, Hijack all you want.. If I were guarding a load of gold from fort worth to way down south on a train, and you boarded it leaping off a horse with shiny peace makers, I would say when I got there, "I dunno what happened.. some one knocked me out... " =) At least that would be my excuse, and I'd stick to it... =P

But In the end, I'm very new to this, and the smoking has to stop... I'll order my ego-t, and when it get's here, I will re-pack the 510 destined to some corner of my closet, but i'll keep the battery's charged in case I do get some nic juice.. so I can honestly give a better review of it. thanks all, again.

Yeah, you definitely gotta get yourself some nic juice. Point your Googles at Electro-Vapors, Maple Leaf Vapes, CdnVapor or Canada Vapor. All of them sell juice with nicotine and they're inside our own borders, so no worries about the possibility of getting your shipment shanghaied by border ninjas. I can't vouch for how good they are as I've never tried them myself, but they can't be all that bad. :)

Thanks for that that Mindfield, I was looking at CdnVapor, but I'll check out the other places you mentioned. And sorry for a rant, But here in Canada, health canada looks out for us in many ways..

They block meds the FDA allows that they do not agree with, but why would they block something benificial to us...
They allow inhalers, patches, gum and injections... but something so simple, as to the Habit.. the experience of it...

They allowed smokes in the 1st place.. they got me addicted to it... ( my fault actually.. ) but why harm me further when
I see a route to get off it... enough of my rant, you all heard it all before.. I hope to be a happy vaper, until the time
I can actually ween myself off this addictive thing altogether..

Thanks for the Insight and Info Mindfield.. your a treasure to the forum =)

Thank you! Always glad to help a fellow Canuck in need. Anyone interested in vaping, really, but we hosers need a bit of extra help thanks to the stiff shirts at Health Canada. That right there is all about politics and control -- same as it was for the FDA until the SCOTUS laid the smackdown. Unfortunately we don't have the same strength of numbers for vendors or vapers to put the screws to Health Canada, but we're starting to get organized and start making a push to get them to remove their absurd "advisory" on E-cigs and leave the damn things alone -- or at least regulate them reasonably and responsibly. I'd still be smoking now if it wasn't for E-cigs, and I know I'd still be smoking probably 'til I die. E-cigs changed my life and I haven't felt better ages.

Just got my ego-t a few days back and am happy with it, after reading for a week on ECF you will get the pros and cons of the system, but I believe it is a good starting point, the batt's from the ego-t are good and allow you to explore a bit, I purchased some carto's and have been enjoying them also, good luck with your vaping adventure
