What's up everybody. I just joined today but have been browsing this site extensively for the past week. The info I've found here has been INVALUABLE to me and thanks to all of you for all the effort you put in to making sure vaping is as satisfying as possible!

Anyway, my name is Jeremy and I'm in North Jersey. I'm 35 years old (34, but bday in a few weeks) and have been smoking since I was 13. I'm a severe addict and go through severe withdraws. I've tried every method possible for quitting without success, because I was just too addicted (for example I had the patch on for awhile, but was dying for a cig so badly that I literally took the patch off, rolled it up, and tried to smoke it. Needless to say it was a bad idea).

I've wanted to quit so badly because I know the damage it does. I'm a single widowed father of two young children, 4 and 6. I know I need to be there for them, and each day I felt self guilt for continuing to smoke. I knew deep down that it wasn't my fault though; it was the addiction. I couldn't even imagine quitting.

Then came this site. Then came the realization that e-cigs could work. I read up as much as I could on this site, ordered two different packages ( a 510 and an M702) and couldn't wait for them to come. I finally got my M702 (the 510 came a few days later) and tried it out. I initially was very disappointed with the way it worked. Then I searched this site more and found out about the straw mod. VOILA! Perfect! It was a whole new e-cig.

Long story short; from that point on I have not smoked a real cigarette. I've done nothing but vape for the past 10 days except for 3 separate instances of taking literally only 2 or 3 drags from a real cig (tasted like xxxx though, so I'd flick the cig away in disgust). Do you believe it? I don't, yet here I am! 10 days cigarette free, toxin free, carcinogen free! I'm in absolute awe and am so thankful I found this site and so thankful for its members. You guys likely saved years of my life!

So thank you thank you thank you. Thank you to all the modders and reviewers. Your services are invaluable.

Having all that said; I could use all of your help. I've searched this site so much (so please don't tell me to search lol) and learned so much, but the problem is sometimes there is so much information to absorb and so many conflicting experiences or comments, that my brain gets overwhelmed and doesn't know what to do. I'm going to explain below what I'm looking for, and hope some of you can give me direct answers!

Ok, I'm a severely addicted ex-smoker, now a heavy vaper. I use the straw mod for now on my 510, and it works ok. But the maintenance is annoying as far as how often I have to fill it etc.

I want a good throat hit and good lung hit, and a battery and cartridge that lasts the longest. I keep hearing about the 901 but is that still the best at what I'm looking for? I hear about how hard it is to maintain etc, and that has me worried. Is there a different model that holds a lot of juice and sucks it all up without much intervention?

I don't care how long or big the thing is. Can you inhale ecigars? Is that what I should get? Is it a penstyle I should get? I just want something that I can suck on pretty constantly without having to fill it a gazillion times and charge it even more. I know there's a two piece VF but I'm not interested in disposable cartomizers. I'm sticking with a 3 piece, but I want one that has awesome vapor but bigger cartridges to hole the juice. I read about so many models but then get confused and flustered as to which one is the one I'd need. Do you all understand what I'm looking for? I know I'm babbling so I hope so. What would you recommend? I want to stay smoke free. It's so important to me. But I need to get this vaping down pat (i.e. no longer be a newbie). I'm willing to do the 510 filling, filling, filling, charging, charging etc for now but want a better solution so that my brain doesn't get turned off. For now I LOVE vaping. I just want the taste to stay and the cart to last as long as possible. Please give me direct guidance!

I know there are so many threads on this, and I've read them all. But theres SO much information and posts in those threads that your brain gets lost reading them. So a direct reply here would help me a lot.

If you want to keep a 3 piece, I think you should look into the mods. There are several, but I think 5v to 6v is more what you would like. It will give you a harder hit, more vapor and I guess just more of everything. You still to fuss and fill, but it take batteries that are rechargeable but last a long, long time. The 901, to me, is just like the 501...except the 501 has a harsher hit. The 901 more flavor. A lot of people are starting to use the cartomizers with their mods for the best of both worlds! Long battery life, with longer lasting carts! You can also refill these easily and the cartomizers will last hours not minutes!

If spending the money on a mod unit is not an option, then you are right ... Either a Penstyle or an E-Cigar would work better for you. Both have very large carts (especially compared to your 510) and do well in the vapor dept, too.

After a quick read of your post.

The 510 is a pretty good work horse and start up kit. My suggestion is;

1. Use pyramid tea bags instead of polyester filler. This will take care of some of the fluid being trapped in the cartridge--you won't need that straw mod for it.
2. I'd invest in a Chuck or Little Chuck.

First off, congratulations.

Regarding your 510, you might want to try this cartridge modification: http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...-foam-plug-updated-v2-0-slug-search-over.html Folks really seem to like it, and it may work better for you than the straw mod.

But back to your original question. Basically, what you're looking for is the holy grail. Most models involve trade-offs, and I have yet to see a model that provides absolutely everything that you're looking for.

For me, I haven't really found a cartridge that lasts for a long time. A penstyle cartridge is certainly large, but when I was using a penstyle PV, I tended to vape faster than it could wick. The Janty Stick (now also being offered by Joye as the Joye Stick) did the best job for me of actually using what was in the cartridge.

Pretty much, I direct drip now. I find that the flavor is better, always that "fresh cartridge" feeling. Now that I use primarily high voltage mods, I'm no longer in what I refer to as "pacifier mode." When I first started vaping, I vaped non-stop, constantly. Once I moved to a higher voltage, my vaping became more satisfying, and I found myself vaping less often.

But dripping isn't always a great solution. For example, in the car, I'd find myself praying for a red light so that I could drip . . . or I'd reluctantly use cartridges (and not be at all happy). Recently what I've started doing is using an adapter and cartomizers on my high voltage mods specifically for when I'm driving or can't otherwise easily drip. Works well for me.
