Hello all!
I have smoked 1-1/2 to 2 packs of cigarettes for 30 years, 1/2 my lifetime.
vaping now for 2+ months.
NO SMOKING!
My lungs certainly appreciate the difference.
I have settled into an eGo/vision CE4 variation.
It works for me.

An observation:
E-vendors and consumers need to step up and demand that manufacturing conform to some standard method of model/product designation.
The confusion is overwhelming and
only serves to frustrate everyone involved.

Enjoy the steam!

Welcome and congratulations on the tobacco cessation!
I was a smoker for 30 years myself, smokes were 80 cents a pack when I started!
Yeah the jargon related to vaping is definitely a sharp learning curve.
Lots of good info contained in these forums once you get an leg up on the jargon tho!

Sounds familiar. When I started smoking in college 40+ years ago, I would get a letter from mom with a one dollar bill inside. Had to decide whether to buy a Big Mac and fries, or a pack of smokes. I lost a lot of weight.

Welcome to ECF VobVan! We understand your frustration and there should be some sort of standard for manufacture. The best way to ensure you get what works for you is to do your research and stick with a common style/thread design that gives you the most options. It can be somewhat overwhelming to see all the different types of models out there but if you will notice, most of them still conform to a design standard that is pretty consistent and easy to decipher once you get the hang of it. Don't get discouraged by the quantity of equipment but stay in tune with the quality and consistency! BTW......congrats on dropping the stinkies!

Just checked out casaa.org
Thanks for that, taylon.

Variety is wonderful.
So many different gizmos...
However, buying coil heads
advertised to fit the specific model clearomizers you own
only to find that they do not fit
sucks big time.
Therein lies the problem.

To be specific:
I use 510/ego batteries
& Vision CE5 clearomizers
Searching for coil heads to fit
I have found numerous vendors selling
one coil head to fit CE4, CE5, CE6, and Vivi Nova.
(and other misinformation)
OK. I know that the gen #1 CE4 is not "rebuildable".
That CE5 can be wickless, bottom coil, or top coil long or short.
That some use CE4+ to designate "the new" rebuildable.
That the CE6 may use the same head as Vivi Nova & Mini.
That the CE5 top coil and CE6 do not use the same base or coil head...

But- finding this information should not need to be a pay as you go learning curve for the consumer or knowledge gained in spite of advertising misinformation.

Branding is pretty much straight forward. Sticking with ONE reputable vendor is certainly a viable option.
Searching for "parts" using a model designation, however, is an exercise in futility.
You know it's true-

Talyon,
How is this being "dealt with"
and how can a consumer get involved?

The FDA will be proposing deeming regulations, most of which we won't like, pay attention to the NEWs forums for updates and please join CASAA for further info. Simply google CASAA for address or by tapping my sig below might work. Ty.

I agree Bob, this info seeking can be head banging. Best way is to ask here on ECF as u have.

Vivi nova heads should be easy to find, best bet would be to upgrade to either a innokin iclear30 or a protank 2 or 3 or an aero tank, as theses heads are newer.

Right now Fasttech where most supplies come form and a few other chinese manufacturers are closed due to a Chinese new year, and will reopen end of Feb. should be easier to find supplies in Mar.

re: casaa- joined.

I very well could have referenced fasttech as one of the sources of product misinformation.

The holiday is done, my order from them has just been shipped.

I am the kind of a person who owns an old truck because it is simple, dependable, and DIY repairable.
I am content with rebuildable CE5 & CE6 clearomizers, already own a multimeter, and hope to try my hand at building a coil sometime soon.
