Hello everyone. My name is Rick and I started looking into all this as I'm kind of tired of smoking, but I don't really want to quit. I know that doesn't make any sense, but I think many of you understand. I have to admit that researching this e-cig thing has been nothing but bewildering!

So what have I learned so far:

1) Do NOT get into "free" trials. Got it. Glad I read here first as I almost did that. Thanks for the sticky.

2) I was going to try Blu, but I am seeing that these may not be a good choice.

Other than those two things, I am still a bit lost. After reading post after post before I actually joined, I was thinking of trying the Joye Ego 510 as they have that special going on. From what I've read, this is a good model and a great price with the 4th of July special from Nicotine Nirvana.

Is this the right way to go for someone new to all this?

According to the website, it comes with all this stuff:

2 Joye eGo 650 mAh Manual batteries White LED
2 Atomizers (the eGo uses standard Joye 510 atomizers)

Including
2 x Atomizer (2 Hole)
2 x Atomizer Cover
2 x eGo 650 mAh Manual batteries White LED
1 x eGoUSB Charger
1 x AC to USB Adapter (allows charging from wall outlet)
5 x Standard Cartridges Marb. Medium Strength (no substitutions)
1 x Carrying Pouch
1 x English Instruction Manual

Is there anything else I need? Thanks for your help.

I think the sale from Nicotine Nirvana is an awesome deal. It's the best I've seen. In addition to it, I'd get some extra 510 atomizers. They can go out and when we're new we tend to screw them up. Other than that, I think you should get some really good juice. I haven't gotten any juice from NN, so can's say one way or the other anything about theirs. My favorites are Tasty Vapor and Ms T's.

The sale at NN is only through today, so if you're going to want to do that, don't wait.

Let us know how it goes! Oh, and welcome to ECF!

I blew one atomizer after three days. That was completely user error. I have one I've been using for six weeks. Some atomizers seem to last longer than others, I think it's a variance on quality. Even from the same manufacturer there's variance. Get extras.

Roughly where in the Springs are you? I've always really liked the Springs.

I'm in the NE area. Powers and Dublin Blvd. I moved here 10 years ago and love it! I will definitely get the extra atomizers. Getting ready to order. :thumb:

welcome and good luck fullback

2 weeks is being conservative on atomizers......some will last for months..some will die quickly but you should average more than two weeks. With that said, definitely get some spares as they don't go bad and you don't wanna get caught without one.

IMHO........get the eGo kit. For a half pack a day smoker, that battery will most likely last you all day on one charge. I paid $80 for mine and woulda gladly paid 3 times that had I known how much better it was than the standard 510.

Oh, that order did actually come with juice. I forgot. I got the American blend, which was pretty good. I think the average use is 2-3 ml per day. Plan on making a mess the first few times you refill and wasting some. You might want a few extra cartridges. After you've played with it a while you may decide to try cartomizers or to try dripping, so don't get too many right at first. Plus, you can rinse the polyfill out to reuse them quite often.

Well, I got my eGo out of the mailbox not 30 minutes ago. The guys at Nicotine Nirvana already had it charged and ready to go. Man, oh man...I LOVE this thing. I can't believe how satisfying it is compared to smoking.

The juice that came with it (American Blend) is a little strong for me (24 MG) so I'll probably go down in strength (I smoke Camel Lights and have been ever since I start smoking 30 years ago -- 1/2 a pack a day smoker). Though, I really don't have to vape long before I'm done, so in terms of battery life and juice consumption maybe that's a good thing. That juice tastes really good BTW. Not the burned taste that some report concerning tobacco juices. It almost has a sweet taste as well.

The PV itself delivers a good TH; no different than a cig to me. Excellent vapor as well; just like smoking a cig. My wife, who is a heavier smoker (3/4 pack - Kools Full Flavor) than me tried it and was amazed at how good it was. I have a feeling that she will try to abscond the second eGo that came in my starter pack! She smokes Kools, so I promised her I would get some menthol juice and let her try it. She wants to quite smoking as well and I think, at least for me, that I may have found the answer!

Thanks for all the advice you guys gave me. It helped me make a good choice!

Good for you, Fullback! Isn't it exciting? Let your wife have the other eGo, you can get more. :D

So check it out. My wife decided she wanted her own. That way she would always have two ready to go. Works for me! She ordered an eGo dual kit in platinum from Nicotine Nirvana today. She's on her last pack of Kools and that works out. Ever since she tried mine, she has been using my second one constantly! I'm glad that Nicotine Nirvana ships fast!

Yeah welcome to ECF glad you and your wife are going to both enjoy this takes the temptation of analogs out of your life. I thought I burned out an atty on my 801 which was my only one and I was like omg what do I do now but it turned out to be my batt thank goodness for I had a spare so I have a free 901 and attys comeing from my supplier because of some confusion on some thing I ordered on there part. But now i need to order a back batt for my 801. So always make sure where ever possible to have back up parts.

Just awesome FB...when your wife's order comes in, make sure you tell her to "leggo my ego!" LOL

Regarding your question on atty life, try to stick to genuine Joyes (relaying reco from a pv master member). I've noticed a definite difference in build quality and performance with Joyes, and while ymmv, some members are averaging 3-4 months life with minimal maintenance. Mine are going on 1.5 months and still work like day #2...and significantly better than the bargain clones I bought.

It's a pleasure to have you with us! Happy vaping to you and your wife!
