Just a quick introduction.

I tried e-cigarettes (those funny little things that sort of looked like a cigarette) around 2008 and found them pretty good at stopping my cravings.

Unfortunately, they were forever running out of battery and I eventually gave up on them.

Started again this year with a little eleaf istick and it's going great!

If there are any other new members who are using vaping to quit smoking, I'd love to hear your thoughts on the most realistic tobacco ejuices etc.

One more question... you are looking for tobacco flavor. Menthol or reg...

Welcome.. your in the right place for all the info you need to vape and stay off the cigs....
The mod (battery) you are using is a iStick but what tank do you have on it?

Not sure, actually.

Just asked the girl in the shop to give me a recommendation - she suggested this.

Welcome. It's possible there are one quarter of a million members on here doing exactly this.
The age-old search for an e-liquid that tastes close to a cigarette is legendary.
Some say unflavored works. I can't vape unflavored but man, that would be cheap if you went straight into DIY. :) Even if you don't/can't do that, be aware that greedy companies selling unflavoured may well sell you 10ml for the price of 100ml 'ready-mixed' unflavored e-liquid.
Personally, I never found the closest in anything I tried. I spent $1,500 on that project.
However, I vaped 99% of those liquids anyway and now make my own tobacco-style concoctions.

Yeah.
I tried a Hangsen premium liquid last week. That was alright...out of stock now though, unfortunately.

PS - there are over 100 'fake' review sites operating just in the US alone. These sites recommend certain brands as being "#1" or "the best" etc. etc.
These sites are in it for your money. They don't care if you smoke, quit, become a vape fiend, whatever. They just want to send you to the brands which pay the most commission.
Those brands will then publish equally dubious reviews about their so-called "premium e-liquid" to get more of your hard-earned money. The e-cig world has created it's own business duping people and then making it look like these reviews sites/magazine/blogs are here for you. Ahh... how lovely.
Don't trust a word of it, please.
There is no juice that tastes like a cigarette. However, there are some mighty fine tasting tobacco vapes out there. Most are made using the same flavor we use for DIY.

Yep. Saw lots of affiliate links in many, many reviews.

Do you know of an impartial blog / website with genuine info?

Ok... your tank can handle any juice... good you have options....
Ever heard of NET ejuices? Natural extracted tobacco ejuice..
well your never gonna get that combustible flavor of tobacco buy Vaping but you can get the true flavor.... it kinda like going into the tobacconist and you have the smell of the fresh tobacco but it does not smell like burning cigarettes... that's kinda what NETs are like.. they are true tobacco steeped in eliquid kinda like tea.. they are a little more pricey than reg. Liquid, they gunk up your coils faster but tobacco fans love them...
Black note Eliquid.... check it out.

I was looking at a review for Black Note earlier today. :)

As said above - I wasn't sure if it was a review or an ad. Best Tobacco E-Juice and Vape Juice Flavors of 2017

I'm not in the least bothered by price. I've been dumping 10 euros a day on normal cigarettes until recently, so 30 bucks for a week's worth of quality vaping is no problem.

Speaking of which. Is 30ml per week a normal amount to consume?

iStick (30w) - yep
eleaf tank - I think so

Decent kit?

I have both. Yes... quite good. The tank takes 0.75ohm Eleaf Air coils, I use the 1.2ohm ones from Fasttech. I set them 14w or so. Not sure about the 0.75 - they were no different in design so I think they'd struggle to vape higher power than the others. (Size of holes for e-liquid).

The only safe reviews are on forums or from the very few genuine reviewers. Most reviewers are in it for money or free stuff.
You can read about vaping products on Spinfuel or Vaping360 but just ignore the reviews on Vaporfi, Apollo, Halo etc.
I really wish Vaping360 in particular stopped all this nonsense. Recommending people spend $100 on a $30 e-cig is kind of pathetic. I don't expect these people ever get out the house much or would dare show up at a national vaping convention, except in disguise.

Black note has some followers. ecigarettereviewed is, unsurprisingly, another site that exists for financial gain.
Basically, if you know how to navigate those websites, you can glean information.

NETs are unlikely to work nicely in a tank that has coils of the design you have.
I still have a variety of NET liquids. Mostly US actually.

30ml a week? That's about normal for low-medium power vaping, yes. :)
