Hello everyone,

I have actually visited here a few times before but never registered until now. I've decided to start participating in a vaping forum and this is clearly the best place. :)

I've been into vaping for just over a year now and it's been a mixture of pleasure and pain. I started off with a Totally Wicked Tornado Tank kit and have been basically maintaining that for the past year, buying new batteries/carts etc. However, I've had various problems with it not vaping so well shortly after replacing parts and leaking occurs unless I change the caps frequently. So I've continued to use this at home but reverted back to rolling tobacco when I'm out and about, as it's simply a lot less hassle.

Upon someone I know's advice, I went for a SkyCig kit and whilst it hasn't been leaking (yet!) the carts run out way too quickly and the vapour just pales in comparison to the Tornado Tank. However, I do appreciate that it looks close enough to the real thing that Old Bill's not likely to confiscate it and nick me for smoking crack!

So getting to the crux of the matter and I'm looking for an upgrade! I really want "the daddy" of vaping experiences now that I'm fully committed to it. However, my knowledge is severely limited compared to a lot of you folk so I'm here seeking your advice. :)

I've been doing a bit of research and the ProVari and ProVari Mini stick out as being very awesome bits of kit to me. However, would members here recommend or dissuade me from making a purchase - if so which one? If not, what are the best ones money can buy?

I've also got little idea of what accessories I need. Are drip tips worthwhile? Should I go with atomisers and cartridges or cartomisers? Any mods worthwhile? Any general tips you guys can offer?

Sorry for such a long introductory post but it doesn't seem I can post elsewhere yet and I really want to make a purchase this weekend. Thanks for reading and I look forward to reading your responses! :D

Welcome Chesterpot! I'm far from an expert here, there are others with far more knowledge. But, there is nothing wrong with the Provari or the Mini if they suit your need. You'll find a lot of prejudice here for and against Provari and as far as I can tel it has nothing to do with the device and everything about the people posting their feelings. There are many great vape machines available and the Provari stands tall amongst them. Again, it depends on what you want. Are you considering variable voltage? If so, what form factor appeals to you - a beefy tube, something more slender, a box? How important are the materials and finishes used to you - aluminum, stainless, chrome, plastic, and colors? Some here are strong advocates for variable wattage and there are great devices that deliver that. Anyway, I'm sure you'll enjoy exploring all of this and deciding what you really want.

Hey Flyer, thanks for a speedy response! :)

Variable voltage definitely sounds appealing, so I can modify the hit precisely to my own tastes. Never tried it though so just best guessing really.

I guess I would like something that I can use anywhere - home, outside a pub etc. But I think I might be better off with an expensive model for home and something cheaper but high quality for out and about. Mainly I want to focus on getting the best vaping experience, whatever the form it comes in. Without going to silly lengths, like having a new boiler fitted just for vaping! :p

Materials and finishes are not massively important to me but the nice it looks the better really. I do like the look of the ProVaris I must say! More important to me is durability however...if I'm going to spunk a large wad of cash on a fake cigarette then it better damn well last me! haha :D

Flyer - I notice in your signature you mention the Provari 2 and the Lavatube - I presume you own both right? How big a difference would you say there is between them?

From my opinion, i tried many sticks and mods. to be frank i tried about 10mods different brands(LT,SB,Bolt,Vmax, cube, box mode's/buzz pro/indulgence/roughstack.. i end up with the provari.. i own few of them now and i only trust the provari to give me the satisfaction i need on vaping. Why?? it just feels different, what voltage i set is what i get and the finishing is awesome. Tanks is best for me as I'm always on the go, so i don't need to refill every time.

Just my 2 cent..

Cheers Silo, another vote for the ProVari then...

Forgive my ignorance but when you say "Tanks work best" are you referring a 510 Tank atomizer?

The Provari is simply the best, as other have said. But for out and about, I would think something you can pocket would be advisable. I love my Provari V2, but it just isn't gonna fit a pocket very cleanly. But, The Provari Mini could, depending on the juice system you use. And it is everything the V2 is with just less battery life (but still lasts a long time). I also like my LT, a lot actually. They make a mini version of these too!. If I had to lose or break one, based on the cost I would rather it be the LT

yup.. the 510 tanks, i use lil mama with boge 2.0 low resistance carto's, phiniac tanks(these are awesome) with smoketech or boge 2.0 mostly.. i vape at 4.5-4.7volts.. i consume about 3ml a day so my tanks choice will be the 3mil..

now im digging up with the surge tank a bottom feeder and uses an atomizer.. as these now i use 3.5ohm atty's and vape at 6volts..

Hope this will help you on searching your setup's

That's the dilemma for me with the Mini...I love the fact that it's more portable but at the same time I would be fearful of losing it...I've got a track record with such things! :D

Would you say the ProVari is worth double the price of the Lavatube (what it adds up to this side of the pond)?

So what bits and bobs do you use with your ProVari Flyer?

Nice one mate, that's the sort of specifics I was after. :)

Sorry to be a pain, but if you could clarify what you meant by this though it would be a help!:

I prefer tanks because they hold alot of juice and I don't have to refill so often. I use a pretty cheap tank (SmokTech dual Coil Tank) for it's size and cost (looks good too, I think). I use cheap SmokTech tank cartos with them. Many here say the Boge is a better carto. I don't have any experience with them. I suspect you'll end up with more than one juice system. Don't forget about a good dripping atomizer for testing juices.

Worth double the price? In honesty, that's a tough one to answer. LT's are relatively inexpensive and are a great intro to the world of variable voltage. Plus, even if you get a Provari, you MUST have a backup PV. LT's would be great for that. In fact, my LT is my main backup and what I use when I'm afraid to have the Provari with me.

I'm a new member here myself and actually new to vaping. I decided right from the start that I wanted the best I could get and Provari seems to be a legend around the vaping community. I've not had my Provari V2 for long but it has been nothing but a good experience.

1. Are drip tips worthwhile? I think so, either get a few of the cheaper plastic ones or a nice stainless steel one. I got the steel one, but I do find it best to run some water over it between flavors so that you don't get the taste of the last flavor with the new one.

2. Should I go with atomisers and cartridges or cartomisers? I got both to start but so far but I really like the cartomizers better. It seems a lot of people like using atomizers and doing the dripping thing frequently and say you get a better vape from it. Maybe it is just me, but I like the flavor that you get with cartomizers better. You really need different cartos for all of the different flavors you want to vape, but thats no big deal to me.

I can't really answer much about tanks yet, as mine hasn't arrived in the mail, but it is basically just a glass or plastic tank that you put over a carto that you(or the vendor) have punched a hole in so that the liquid can flow into it. The tank that I am getting is a glass(pyrex) tank from Phiniac.com, they are a little more expensive than the plastic tanks you can get but from all of the reviews I have seen they look nice and are very reliable.

Nothing really more to add since I am still a newbie myself, but I wish you the best. :)

no worries man.. i just purchase the surge tank.. i started with an atomizer.. so dripping is the way learn before tank been introduce.. i like atty's a lot.. the problem is every time i need to vape i need to drop 2-3 drop of juice into the atty then i vape the process also a bit hassle sometime.. then when the 510 tanks with carto been introduce then i started using them but i still use atty's when im at home as the juice feels better than the carto's. By the way i use 80/20 pg/vg base or PG.

So one day i just watching youtube and found out that there is a tank for atomizers, so i try and i hooked up with it since a month ago.. loving it a lot.. check it out at 310 vapers.com there is also a few review there that maybe can help you how does it work.:toast:

I'm brand new to vaping and to this forum. Could someone please verify that the Provari Mini does everything just as well as the V2 version, and the only downside is shorter battery life? What's the actual difference in battery life between the two models? I know there are lots of variables that affect battery life, but are we talking about three hours versus four hours? Three hours versus eight hours? Or is it more like 10 hours versus 20 hours?

Do many people prefer the mini because the V2 is just too big for mobile use? I've never tried either, but the V2 sounds like it's quite heavy and huge. Could the V2 be much less conducive to vaping on the go? For example, if I were taking a long walk on the beach, with very few places to store stuff, like with so little room that I'd leave behind my wallet and my keys--would the larger V2 just be completely inappropriate?

Thanks for your help. What a great new technology! What an informative forum! This vaping phenomenon seems likely to have a profound impact on my daily life.

Both of the are the same as far as function. The battery for mini(without the extension), lasts around two-thirds the amount of time of the default battery for the V2. I've never really tried to time it, I would guestimate that I get around 8 hours with my V2. So probably between 5-6 hours with the mini.

As far as size, I don't think it is something you will want to take the beach. The V2 is around 4 inches long and 1 inch across, without atty or carto. The mini is only around half an inch shorter with the same width. Personally, I would rather get the V2 for the greater battery life... And really I don't get why someone would want the mini at only half an inch shorter? Maybe if you have small hands maybe?

Just my thoughts. :)

I have a normal v2. But from what Im guessing the mini is just shorter for the most part (besides some physical differences in the appearance). I think if you get an extended battery cap for the mini it equates to the size of a standard v2 with the normal cap. Am I right about that?.... A mini can be a mini or standard size (with extended cap) but the normal provari can be a standard or extended size (with extended cap). Dont mind me if I dont make sense, im just drunk, thats all.
