Hello! And also a dripping question...

Hello! I've been reading the forums for awhile now, and have always been blown away by how knowledgeable the members here are. I figured this would be the best place to get an unbiased opinion on my dripping needs.

First, a little background...I've been vaping on and off for the past 5 years or so. I've been slowly moving onto more advanced vaping devices. I've been trying to quit cigarettes, and I've really found vaping to be helpful in that regard. Over the past year or so, I've been using devices like the Apollo ego, twists and lately (my new favorite), my Itaste VTR.

Lately, I've been amassing a giant collection of juices. I simply don't have the time or the attention span to stick to one particular flavor for a full 3ml tank. I've been reading up on dripping, and it seems like the perfect cure for my vaping ADD. Unfortunately, I am not the most up to date person on what to buy to get started. I visited the local shop, and was told I needed an Aspire CF Sub OHM battery, and a $50 tip that they had in stock. I did pick up the battery, but held off on the tip. I guess my question becomes, did I get the right battery for my dripping aspirations? And also, is there any particular drip tip I should purchase to go along with it? Any suggestions you may have would be most appreciated.

TLDR: Looking for suggestions on compatible drip tips for Aspire CF Sub Ohm battery.

Hello and welcome to the forum. Glad to have you here!

A drip tip is the mouthpiece that goes on your tank/dripper. Are you looking to get into rebuildable drippers (i.e an RDA)? An RDA requires you to build your own coils.

You really didn't need any particular battery (Mod) Chris as you can build an RDA or "Dripper" (what your local vape shop called a "tip" based on the price they quoted) to vape at any wattage. In short, you'll be fine with your VTR as long as you build your RDA above 1-2 ohm or so. Are you a mouth-to-lung hitter? If so, the Magma RDA is a great device for M2L vapers. There are a few great vids on Youtube describing the device and going over coiling and wicking it. If you're a lung hitter, there are any number of RDAs out there. Definitely spend some time on Youtube with PBusardo, Rip Trippers, Ruby Roo and others to get as much info as you can.

I was looking at the rebuildable atomizers earlier, but was scared off...I'm not what you would call "handy" . I'm sure that I'll be able to find some good videos outlining it, like you mentioned.

I just tried out the CF Sub I bought, I like it almost as much as the VTR. I guess that's a silver lining .

I think he's asking if you vape to your mouth first, let it sit and then take the hit from your mouth to your lungs, or if you directly take your hit from the device straight to the lungs without holding it in your mouth.

"Dripping" is using a rebuildable dripping atomizer...... Thats the only way to "drip", hence the name.

Alot of education goes into "dripping" and coil building.

Check out baditudes battery safety tutorails and education.

Buy an OHM reader that atleast reads well, not a cheap $5 one. Also, make sure you test coils you build BEFORE trying to fire. Watch a ton of vidoes on coil building. Use ORGANIC or Japanese cotton to wick

ALSO, you will consume ALOT more juice per day once you start dripping.
I went from using 1 10ml bottle every 5-6 days in my generic Aspire Tank and Kanger ProTank, to dripping and using 1 10ml bottle of juice every 2-3 days!

Ah..I see. In that case, the answer would still probably be yes. Twenty years of smoking cigs has me in the habit of inhaling immediately. I have that problem with cigars too; my boss still makes fun of me for getting sick at a cigar bar we went to a few years back.

Thanks for the information, SavinOCWA87. The more you guys tell me, the more glad I am that I didn't just buy what my local shop had. I apparently need to do much more reading / watching about coil building, wicking, etc. This is alright by me though, I don't have any qualms with how I've been vaping. I was just looking for the next step up, but I don't need to take the plunge immediately.

Well you have 5 years in the making so im guessing you are knowledge enough about ohm laws? I tell you what anytime you walk in a local place they will always try to sell you what they have. I was a victim to that. But now I would do research about what you want to do like for instance "Dripping" now you need to go buy a RDA,Ohm reader most important, wick,cotton and so on. Dripping is a whole new ball game now. Why not just go for a Aspire or Subtank both will subohms.

For sampling juices a few drops at a time you're probably looking for an actual rebuildable dripping atomizer (an rda). Once the coil is built and installed, the wicking material can be changed and everything can be rinsed out pretty quickly for each new juice flavor. Building coils is not at all difficult until you get into the ones that are below 1.0 ohm (sub-ohm), which aren't necessary for taste testing. A Magma would be an excellent rda to start with as it can be built with a single coil very easily and gives great flavor. Hope this helps.

LOL, thank you for correcting me. How could I overlook a 2ohm coil for dripping that is disposable? LOL, I guess I shouldn't be so high and might with my .8 duals thinking its the only way to drip. Now I feel like a "Vape Shop Owner" trying to tell someone they only have one option.

Exactly! Do you vape like one smokes a cig or do you vape like one smokes a joint? That's the difference between mouth-to-lung (cig) and lung (joint) hitter.

No need to apologize!

Yes, they are disposable. If you are newer to vaping (within the past 3-4 years) you have probably never seen or used one. I gave them up as my primary vape when carto-tanks were first introduced. I use to keep a few on hand for testing flavors when I DIYed but since getting a RIO I use it for testing my batches. Just a side benefit of using a RIO!

Hi! New to forums but a 4 year vaper. To try and help answer ur question......it depends on what kind of vape u want. Do u like it cool or warm? Do u want more flavor or vapor? Do u want a lot of vapor(cloud chasing)? Are u dead set on a regulated device? A lot of variables when finding what suits you. No one can ever be an expert with this ever changing hobby. I have tried a lot over the years and can give u my likes. That's really all anyone here can do. Let me know what ur looking for and I'll try my hand at a few recommendations.
