Hey, im new to vaping, only been doing it 2 months but its been a revelation to me as i have not touched a analogue cigarette in a month and dont miss it that much :)

I started with the ROK mini e-cig and found it to be really realistic and have been vaping it for 2 months with no problems, feel much better and chest feels great and have recently bought a Ego T to take the next step in vaping and am excited about this however i am now experiencing a minor problem!

Im hoping for some advice from the more seasoned vapers out there?

So my problem is ive had no problems for 2 months but in the last week and a half ive been getting quite itchy mainly on my arms and sometimes other areas, im guessing its the PG or the nicotine as ive not ingested PG like this in the past so could be that also when i tried Nic patches i had a similar reaction (itching). The e-cig i have been using is apparently 100% PG and i now know you can use VG too so im looking for some advice on weather anyone experienced a similar thing and weather maybe VG would be better or a mix of PG and VG?

Im actually quite gutted because i finally thought id found the way to beat the ciggies but now with this annoying itch its just stressing me out as much as the guilt i used to feel when smoking :(

Any ideas are welcome as i was really enjoying vaping and was looking forward to trying different flavors!

Looking forward to chatting with you all!

Cheers :)

Hi!

I wouldn't call myself a veteran on vaping yet but are you drinking enough water? You might be getting dehydrated. That is just a guess on my part.

Yeh ive heard that but i always drink a decent amount of water anyway so didnt think i was.

This itching thing is putting a right block on my vaping experience :(

Thanks for the comment :)

Hiya Mickbo80 and welcome to ECF. As Bostlabs pointed out, it is always good to make sure you are keeping hydrated, but you may also be experiencing a tolerance limit to pure PG based juices. You might want to back off the 100% PG juice and either step down to a 50/50 PG/VG ratio or even to 100% VG for a while. Rock the hydration as hydration will keep dry skin from becoming an issue and PG, being a humectant, will dry you out. See if that helps and the dry, itchy skin condition clears up. It is also, never a bad idea to get your doctor involved and consult with him/her. Good luck with this and let us know how it goes for you.

Thanks for the input mate, i am going to the docs on friday as i know my body and im a bit of a hypochondriac haha hense the want to dump the analogues this itching thing is not me and driving me up the wall :(

Really hope i can sort it and carry on vaping as its done wonders for me up till now, feel so much better so maybe the itch thing is worth it?

Cheers

welcome Mickbo80, and yeah, what Deacon Aegis said. He really beat me to the punch ...almost the exact same words lol. but i had that issue too with just dryish skin, eventually kinda had a couple head aches once in a while and turns out i wasnt Hydrating like i should have been. (working in a ware house doesnt help that much either) XD but i roll 50/50 or even 40PG/60VG, on some sites, and 20PG/80VG where websites make it available.

I had the same issue you're having, Mickbo. I found myself vaping constantly and thought that suddenly high intake of PG could be it. When I changed to a higher VG juice my issue went away. Now that you're using a tank you can pick up some juices. Some e-juice sources don't state, or give you a choice, about the VG/PG ratio. Here are some of my notes:

Alien Visions - VG Flavors category has PG/VG choices
Heather's Heavenly Vapes has PG/VG choices
Backwoods Brew is 70% PG/ 30% VG
Highbrow Vapor has PG/VG choices
Ahlusion has PG/VG choices
Ms. T's Bakery says theirs is >50% VG

I don't know if the PG is your issue, I just know that when I reduced my PG intake my similar symptoms resolved themselves.

Yeh its more like a dry general itch, not unbearable and not really any visible marks but i work in a high stress job anyway and do long shifts so can do without it really, smoking was my stress reliever but felt massive guilt that i was killing myself with cigs so was overjoyed when i discovered vaping so its kind of putting a damper on it but guess ill just keep hydrated and experement with different mixes, thanks :)

Adding to this excellent advice. It is also not unheard of for the VG to be the culprit so don't discount that possibility. Everyone's body is different.
