So today I've started getting a burnt wick taste and I have to prime it every time I use it. Granted taking a few non firing hits is better than breaking it down what seems every other time I use it to clear it but is there a fix for this?
When I first got it i dripped 3 drops onto the wick then took enough cold hits to get it gurgling then let it sit for five minutes.

I use both the full size and the mini Aspire Nautilus tanks--the only time I get even a hint of a burnt taste is if I raise the volts. I have also found that my tanks perform better if I keep them full. I refill when I get down to half a tank. I typically use 50/50 liquid, some dark some light.

I'm using a 50/50 liquid
Vaping only at 4v
My tank is only about 1/8th empty

My battery actually only goes to 5v. Lol

Sounds like you should be ok there. Maybe put a few drops down in the atty, and let it sit just a few minutes. I can go above 4V with both the 1.6 and 1.8.

Yeah. I do read that seems to be the one downfall of the nautilus. Some people seem to get burnt wicking. I read the bvc seems to fix this though

Oh sorry--I must have mis-read initially--I thought you were using the BVC. I ditched all the BDC (same problem you are having) and went totally BVC. You should not have a burnt taste using the BVC.

I hope so as after a week of the aerotank2 I just ordered the nautilus with bvc coils

stripped my aerotank down twice whilst reading this thread

then on the second strip n clean including the tubes with cotton buds

after washing the base and coil in hot water I put the coil back in and blew into the air hole of the base

this time when I fired it up was like new again !

my issue seems to be the air way in the coils are blocking

Hello and happy vaping!!! first off I am new to vaping with tanks. Started with a blu like device years ago. Rebuilt my own carts back then but it was a pain in the .... so I gave up on vaping. Now here I am with an itaste clk 1280 and a protank 2.
My protank leaks and floods all the time. I am tired of it and want to ditch it. I love the airy draw I get from it and all flavored feel very muted. I have looked at the davide , nautilus and aero tank.
Does anyone have any long term use experience with these tanks and can I get opinions on them please?

Flooding on a bottom coil tank is something that happens just because it's a bottom coil tank; keeping them more on the full side helps because the more air in the tank the more likely expansion of air due to temperature pushes extra liquid down to the coil.

I hardly hear of the davides; I think they use the same coil heads as the protanks; the aspires have a couple interesting improvements on the coil head: noteable the airflow coming in on the side instead of the center pin fighting for space where it contacts the mod center pin. The center pin grommet seems easier to remove and replace than on the protanks.
Also, with the aspire nautilus there is the new bvc coil head using ceremic wick material and designed like a carto on the inside.

I'll second the Nautilus with bvc coils, but there's a different version of it out they're called the beyond vape - silo tank. Far better build quality imo, better protection of the glass and much wider airflow option than the Nautilus. It's 35 bucks on the beyond vape website

I run mine at 13 watts with 100% vg and it performs beautifully

Same here. I think the greater volume of liquid forces more into the coil area, improving wicking. The effect is more pronounced with liquids that don't wick as easily.
