HI!
first of all, thanks to everyone on this forum, I have learned much just by browsing through it.

I started vaping last April with a Bull smoke starter kit, and quickly moved up to a halo Triton, which has been great, but I think I am ready to take the next step.

I got into DIY flavoring a couple months ago, so I think it is now necessary for me to have something I can drip with.

a lot of the terminology is still foreign to me, & I cannot say I totally understand everything I have read, but I think I am starting to get the basics!

as far as looks, functions, and something that could grow with me in the future, and, last but extremely not least, cost, I have been looking at the Vamo v7 as a good next step.

could anyone weigh in and let me know if this indeed may be a good choice?

can someone also recommend a good place to start for disposable dripping atomizers, as I am Not Yet interested in anything rebuildable?

is there anything that comes with the starter kits, such as the ones on ebay, that is complete junk and should not even be bothered with, as far as batteries, tanks, etc.?

and last question, for now, what would you recommend as a good resistance, voltage, wattage setting combination, as a good place for me to start, and in what increments should I be boosting people did you end wattage from there? I am looking for a better throat hit and flavor.

I am the sort of brain that is not really going to understand VV and VW until I experience it, so that is why I asked. I have searched these forums at least once a day looking for answers to all these questions, but yet, here I am still a bit clueless I am afraid!

thank you again so much for any help, this forum has helped me answer many questions that I didn't even know I had, I am excited to see what can do when I actually ask!

Hello flyboy and welcome to the forum. First shopping --- Forum Suppliers Also look for "coupons" at the top of the page. As to whether you go into Mods, dripping, sub ohms or whatever, the search box at the top right of every page has been very useful to me. I'd suggest getting a "mod" battery (like the eleaf 30W or new 50W, or a Sigelei for example) of some type and a name brand tank with adjustable air flow. (Aspire or Kanger for examples). With a good mod you can grow into other areas from your Halo Triton. Good luck.

Hey flyboy, welcome!

I think Vamos are about 50/50 -- the Vamo chip and design is apparently used by quite a few different manufacturers; some are fine, and some are decidedly not, but there's no way of knowing which you'll get, till you get it, and a month later, it stops working. I got a Vamo V2 in August, and it still works, but it's a bit underpowered, compared to other mods I have, and this little "washer" looking thing in the battery tube has come loose, I have to put it back in and make sure it's laying flat every time I change the battery. I got it solely because it was the least expensive way I could find to get a "gun metal" (black chrome) mod, and I got it for $17 at VaporBreak; if I hadn't needed a gun-metal finish and it hadn't been such a great price, I'd probably have passed on it.

As for batteries that come in "starter kits"... definitely pass on those. I've never seen a single case of an included battery being worth the extra postage necessary to mail it. Mainly, I trust: 1) AW -- probably the most trustworthy brand available; and 2) Efest, for use in a regulated mod that isn't going to stress any amp limits -- such as a Vamo or Sigelei Zmax or something along those lines. I always like to use AWs in my mechanicals, BECAUSE they're so trustworthy -- but I also pay attention to amp draw, and the battery's particular continuous amperage rating. I believe the Samsung and LG batteries are also good quality.

I'm not familiar with the Vamo, but the two websites I looked at said the V7 is 30 or 40 watts and fires down to 0.8-1.0 ohms. That sounds kind of limited for dripping. I'd say the iStick 50 watt would be much better, 50 watts and fires down to 0.2 ohms.

Also a lot of people seem to like the IPV and Seigelli (I have no idea how to spell that name.) mods.

EDIT: It's Sigelei

Oh also -- never ever buy batteries on eBay or Amazon -- they're almost always fakes -- battery counterfeiting has apparently become The Thing To Do. AWs are the ones most often counterfeited, I think. I know for a fact two vendors I frequently use are both authorized AW resellers -- sweet-vapes.com and desertvapes.com, but sweet-vapes has better prices on them. There are others, but I don't know them offhand; maybe someone else can furnish a link to the list of authorized resellers.

And never buy batteries that have "fire" anywhere in the name -- which should be self-explanatory. For some odd reason, all the batteries that have "fire" in their names, usually contribute to or cause them. :D
