Hopping on the bandwagon

About a week ago i started really looking into e-cigs for the first time. I was kind of sketchy about it so kept putting it off. But Saturday i went to walgreens and picked me up my first disposable blu e-cig. And i loved it. And i started searching around for ideas on the next step. That's when i stumbled upon this forum. Ive been surfing around and really am interested in all of this. But to be honest i am kind of getting confused with all this. My question for you guys is what would be a good kit to try? And the cartridges or the drips? I just really have no idea where to start and would love to. Any help is much appreciated. Thank you and hope to be a part of the community. :)

Theres a "wonderful world of vaping guide" on here thats a good place to start. If you want something ultra simple, you can pick up a kr808 kit for between 30-50$ from a reputable vendor on here. They will sell you pre-filled cartomizers which are about as simple as you can get. This will get you started on the road to quitting analogs. If you want to skip the kr808 or the ones that look like actual cigarettes, they're are many options. Look at a model and tell us which ones you are thinking about and you'll get a whole bunch of answers. Good luck and welcome to the forum.

thank you. do you think a kr808 kit would be a good place to start? I like the automatic e-cigs, and don't mind jumping right to the better e-cigs. I just dont know if the refillable ones will be too complicated since I've only vaped for less than a week.

Can you fill a water bottle? Then filling a cartomizer should pose no problem. Even if you get a decent (read, not Blu) mini-cigarette, you can fill your own cartomizers (cartridges).

All of the better e-cigs have manual batteries with a button. This is not for no reason. But if you want a mini-cigarette type of e-cig, take a look at a decent one. That would be a Volt from smokelessimage.com. There are a couple others, out of a thousand brands, but the Volt is one of a very small selection that is actually worth spending money on. If you do get a Volt, make sure to get at least 2 and preferably 3 batteries. Make one of them an manual with a button. It will take you 5 seconds to get used to it and when you get sick of swapping and charging batteries, your next e-cig will almost certainly have a button anyway. So you may as well get used to it in advance.

My advice is to at least get a decent mini-cig like the Volt from smokelessimage.com. Get some prefilled cartridges and take a look at some youtube videos about how to refill them. Honestly, it's pig simple. Next time you order cartridges, get some blank ones and some juice and save yourself a bunch of money.

By the time you have quit smoking altogether and want a more substantial e-cig, there are plenty of options to choose from and none of them will seem complicated.

Some questions first:
1. How much do you smoke?
2. How tied are you to the device looking like a cigarette.

If you're a heavy smoker, then a mini might not get you completely off cigs. I smoked over 2pks/day and they just didn't give me enough of a boost to completely get over the hump. And no, I'm not going to mention what I got, even though it just came in this morning. I've talked it up all over this forum, and i don't want to be one of those fools in love who have to tell everyone about it, lol.

Hi Reidus, shout out from new orleans, yo.

To will2098:

Someone above me told you to sorta stay away from auto batteries. I'm going to recommend you do that as well. Manual batteries are going to give you a more consistent and deeper hit. Plus it puts YOU in control of the device instead of an air-flow sensor. Once you get used to it, pushing that button just becomes 2nd nature and you don't really think about it much. The volt has been recommended to you, and I certainly think it's a good device. Vapor4Life is also a great kr808 vendor with decent prices. They normally have sales though between 20-30% so make sure you look for an online coupon.

As for filling, this is incredibly simple. Pop off the little rubber cap, add a few drops and you're back in business. I spend less than a dollar a day vaping and you can too. You can buy the pre-filled ones and then back that up with a bottle of their juice. Say you buy 5 grape cartos, just buy a bottle of grape e-juice and top them off every night. Doing this will help you ease into the refilling idea.

The last thing you really will want to consider is your lifestyle. If you are an office worker, or a person who has easy access to power all day long etc, a kr808 system will be fine for you. If however, you are a construction worker or person who doesn't have a power source all day long you should go with a fat-battery model which will give you longer run time between charges.

Without knowing how much you smoke, I can't tell you if one of the 808s are right for you. Me? I smoked 2+ packs a day, and the V2s just weren't enough. I went to a E-power (came in yesterday; lovin' it, btw '-)). On the other hand, I'm trying to get my mother hooked up with the Volts from Smokeless Image, because I think the 808s will be sufficient for her, and quite frankly I don't think she'd be the type to fill cartos, lol.

Your mom could re-fill really easily though. Back when I was using the 808s, I could top off 7-8 cartomizers in less than 10 minutes. Cost about 10 cents to top one off, versus 2 bucks per carto. I guess if money is no object, just chuck them but you both should really look into the refilling lol.
