Awesome, the thread needs lots of love! :)

Next on my list of things I'm getting is a BAM eventually... once the customer decides on a style!

I find it incredibly funny once I explain to folks all the endless possibilities for customization on their units, they take forever to decide because there are so many choices. I mean, if you could have any logo or design put onto your APV what would you choose?

Dunno been thinking about what to do with my zenesis......

Might red powdercoat it

I really want to get my hands on a Zenesis so I can finally show off what I can do to the aluminum ones. I suppose yours is stainless like the majority of them in circulation! Can't do nothing with those.

Yup plus it's a really low original number so prob in the end won't do anything but a high level quality polish job

Oh yeah, don't wanna go messing with something that special.

I finally got my hands on a Ihybrid of my own, and I'm thinking I'll go with a spider-man theme. I'll mask spider-man's mask onto the side and put webbing on the entire thing. I'm still toying with ideas. It makes sense to me why folks take so long to choose a style when I cannot even choose myself! LMAO

OK, I was specifically asked to NOT post this until I got permission to do so because the customer wanted to see it first. He's approved it and given me permission to post pictures of the mod.

I am proud to present the first ever Darwin anodized to resemble WOOD!

here was my first attempt but it was too light for our tastes.

Dude, Nice work!!! First one looks cool but the second one you really nailed it!!

You been talkin with that about doing the case and cone of the VMOD? Let me know if it's aluminium and if you can do it. I will deff hit you up if you can.

Keep up the good work man!

Happy Halloween!!

Venom is cool too.. why didn't I think of that?

I was thinking just going a deep purple or blue and go with this laser engraved onto the barrel as well:

The Vmod is all aluminum, I think the cone is too, but you can find out easily by scratching the inside of it a little, if it's easy to scratch, it's aluminum, if not it's something else or brass. I'm 75% sure it's aluminum tho!

Totally doable!? Oh man. Gonna have to buy a standard iHy. You do engraving too?? I hope the VMOD is aluminium. That'd be sweet. It's at home right now but I'll have to check.

Y'know that all depends on what you mean by engraving. You can get a watch engraved at any local jewelers that uses a diamond scribe and drags it across the metal to make the engraving, or, you can take it to a laser engraver and have them laser engrave any graphics onto anodized aluminum, or you can have a rotary scribe cut out metal and make a grooved engraving. I can do the first two with a local shop 2 blocks away and he's given me incredible prices, but I cannot do the third.

So, looks like we've got drama coming our way. Just to warn you, the first Ihybrid that I ever anodized had a small issue with it. When I was polishing the tank sleeve, the polishing wheel grabbed it out of my hands and flung it down onto the floor. It dinged it a little bit and I proceeded to notify the customer (Wingedwheel) that I would contact the maker to get him a replacement, which I did. I also did not do a good enough job cleaning the rubber cement from teh threads (all that was needed was a bit of toulene to clean it out) so the electrical connection wasn't good. I again offered a complete replacement of the tube in question in the understanding that both of the tubes I had anodized would be returned to me. Now I went the extra mile in conjunction with this nice gesture and gave him a COMPLETE REFUND AS WELL with the understanding that he would return teh damaged parts to me for my own use since he no longer wanted them. Now Mr. Wingedwheel does not want to honor his end of the bargain in returning the parts to me or even compensating me for the parts since he no longer has the replacements.

So, just a heads up this guy seems to think that he's been WRONGED and I find it pathetic that he won't be honoring his end of the bargain and feels justified for whatever reason.

Hell, I even offered to anodize the replacement parts for FREE! Now his big beef is that the replacement parts took a long time to get to him because the post office didn't look good enough in the drop box that the manufacturer dropped them off in. So they went unnoticed in the drop box for close to 2 weeks and was almost 3 weeks before the guy got his replacement parts, but I cannot take credit for that mess up because I'm not responsible for the USPS.

Also, for those interested, I've solved the issue with parts flying out of my hands on the polishing wheel by placing them on a wooden dowel and securing them in place so they can never fly off again.. So you can trust that your parts are safe.

So, now I'm out the cost of replacement parts and the time to anodize and materials in doing so.

I've tried to work it out with him extensively in PM and he's adamant that he should be paid for his suffering because of the delay from USPS. I just cannot take credit for that. I'll take credit for EVERYTHING I do wrong. I'll admit mistakes. I'll even pay for them. But when I come to an agreement with someone, I honor it to the letter. Even if it's wrong. My word is my bond. It's written in stone. This guy won't honor his end of the agreement in sending me the original anodized parts that were messed up not because he doesn't have them, but because the replacement parts I paid for where returned to the manufacturer for whatever reason and the original anodized tubes are what he has remaining. How does THAT make sense?

So, I've done everything on my end and now I'm out additional $$ for parts I never got back.

So, I asked him, contact the manufacturer and tell him you sent him the parts in error as they are owed to me and have him send them to me and I'll even pay the cost of shipping to me and refund you the cost of the dremel wheel you purchased to clean the threads of any goop. Nope, he's not even willing to do that.

I can't speak to if he's received any compensation from the manufacturer, but I doubt it. From what he indicated, the manufacturer sent him other freebies for his device and he also returned those. But thats' just what he's indicated and given his dishonesty in honoring our original agreement, I question if he did indeed return them. Who turns down free stuff for your device?

Anyway, he seems to think that slandering me in my thread is going to protect him from repurcussions of his actions and I indicated to him that I felt I had gone above and beyond the extra mile to make sure that what I had done was right, and he disagreed saying I was not going the extra mile and was
"Extra mile? Are you even reading my PM's? I think "strange and unique" is understated. "
Whatever that means?

I appreciate that you feel I have done the right thing. I'm sure we can get his side and maybe I've not gone above and beyond. Maybe I did not do everything I could. If that's the case, I'll do better next time. I do try to make right any mistakes I make when they do happen. I am human and mistakes do happen, but I always use my mistakes to learn. Very rarely do I make a mistake twice.

*edit* I do have to take something back. I don't believe I did wrong here. He and I came to an agreement. Plain and simple. If he didn't feel it was honorable, he shouldn't have agreed. But, he did and I followed through on my end. So, no, I did nothing wrong.

So, with all the above, I'm looking to purchase any unused Ihy tubes that you want to get rid of. It's important to understand, I won't buy it if you don't normally use it or hven't ever but might. I mean you will never use it because you don't like it and want to get rid of it. Say, you like your short tube and will never ever use your 18650 tube. I'll buy it. You purchased a Kick tube and don't like the hit on the kick so you want to get rid of the kick tube. I'll buy it. You only use the thread sleeve and the tank sleeve is not your style. I'll buy it. You don't own any shorter batteries and only have 18650's nor do you have any desire to use shorter batteries at any point so your short ihy tube is never going to get used. I'll buy it.

Now let me be clear. This is not so I can anodize the tubes and sell them as product. I'm not like that. I feel that would be dishonest for whatever reason. Not that I'm really clear on why other than it's not my product and it's not right for me to do that. I want these tubes so that I can anodize them for folks who only have the ihy as their only device but want anodized tubes and can't live without having an ihy to use. I would then ask for a deposit (lesson learned mr. wingedwheel) anodize the tubes I have, ship them to the customer and when the unanodized tubes are returned to me, I will refund the deposit. so, I'm looking for at least 2 full sets of battery tubes including the kick tubes, and tank sleeves.

I have to do it this way because the vendor won't sell me a few tubes to use for this purpose. My only other recourse would be to purchase a complete unit and use the tubes for that, but I haven't the resources to do that at this time.
