Hello.
Nice to meet you all.
I've just joined... been vaping for 7 months... after 25 yrs of smoking. Loving it. Loving more the technical side to it all. Started out on a eleaf iStick Pico w/ Melo 3 atty. A month ago I bought an Augvape Merlin RTA. Started building fused claptons and eagle claptons.. 2 x 24ga SS316L with a 40ga Kanthal D wrap. 0.22 - 0.30 ohm builds. Organic ... Cotton wicks. 20 - 40watts on Kanthal (only) builds and 180-240 degree TC on SS builds. Great flavour and draw on the Merlin over the Melo 3.

So I like changing flavours and trying new builds... and I'm thinking to get a new mod & RDA next. Chasing flavour more so than clouds. Can anyone recommend a mod and rda combo that would make sense as a progression? I am also interested in making a staggered fused clapton... so maybe an RDA with wide post holes?

This is such a fun world and I'm excited to learn from you all... and contribute when I can.

Thanks in advance.

Hello and welcome, your desk looks just as messy as mine. Great to see I am not the only mess da piece here.

Hi Sirikah,

Nice pics! You might want to explore the RDA forum and even post your question there, you're likely to get more helpful responses and reading some ongoing threads on all the various options will probably help you make a decision as well... And I'm sure Brother Bob will be along at some point to provide helpful links for you to read, he's pretty great about doing that in the New members forum.

Welcome to ECF!

Anna

Hi and welcome. Nice job on the coils, albeit I usually don't get that fancy myself. There are any number of mods to choose from. I like the Sinuous Predator 228 and the Wismec RX series, for good regulated mods that won't break the bank. The Smoant Battlestar is often recommended as well, but I don't have one.

For an RDA... take a hard look at an Indulgence Mutation X V5. Should be able to pick it up online under $30. It has huge post holes and is very flexible regarding build capabilities. Heck, you can even take the posts out and build postless. The air is (amazingly) adjustable, anywhere from fire hose to "suck-walnut-through-drinking-straw." The thing can be build any number of ways, just perfect for a tinkerer. I don't have a 5, but I have several V4s-- 5 or 6, I think-- and I like them a lot. Not bad flavor and super-duper cloudy if built right. Best of all, it's about 20% of the price of a Kennedy.

One caveat: People new to RDAs always over-drip (meaning put too much juice in the atty). Always. Dripping is something you have to learn how to do. Any atty with bottom air-- the Mutation has bottom air-- will leak like a sieve if over-dripped. This doesn't mean don't get one. It means carry a paper towel with you.

Welcome and glad you joined.
The information below should give you a path to pursue regarding multi coil builds in the low ohm range. Would give RTDA's a close look.

Welcome aboard and congratulations. I'm not into fancy builds, a single coil of a single strand of 24 gauge Kanthal is enough for me. I use two of my reg mods more than I use my mech, mostly to satisfy the geek side of me, but always in the back of my mind is that the mech will always be there..

Welcome to the forum, I notice you are using an RDA which a lot of people like while I prefer the RBA which hold more liquid. On the Clapton I'm not sure why you would want an outer wrap with Kanthal, the outer wrap is usually SS also, SS can be cleaned by burning the coil and I'm not sure how the kanthal reacts to burning. I personally use the Daedalus for making Claptons, never been able to do this by hand myself.
On the Picio's I have 2, the original 22 mm and the Pico 25 for the 25 mm tanks, I was never able to get the original to work with SS but the Pico 25 works well with SS.
