ehh the china mods are gonna go in whatever direction sales indicate. the upgraded the chip and screen a little but the v2 body still sells tons so its just the next logical step. so its more of a v2 rev2

and the other post - panasonic is one of the best batteries made. i have now switched over and just use the 2900's and 2250's

theres nothing like forgetting when you changed the battery lol. was it yesterday? or the day before?

I have the v3 and i enjoy it very much, it is variable voltage/wattage. The pictures make it look much cheaper feeling then when in hand. I believe I have seen this somewhere, it was referred to as the vamo 2.5. Major diff. between the v2 & v3 is that the v3 is only in rms mode while the v2 uses avg or rms. Also, the collar is removable, which i find makes cleanup easier. oh and not to mention the screen.

but the v2.5 would have all of these so if you like the v2 body over the v3 get the v2.5

that is THE KIT for a Vamo, I think.
It used to have really excellent Panasonic batteries, but I see now they're Sony. Maybe someone knows those and can tell if they're good, cause I'm not certain.
But the charger? It's FINE - it's not some cheap chinese thing, it's a very popular charger.
The cheaper kits come with Trustfire batteries and chargers. And you're paying like $2 for Stainless Steel, which everyone recommends.
For OTHER batteries, and a couple other recommended chargers, you could check RTD Vapor, where a LOT of people go for those. And build your own kit - buying just a VAMO...

I've been told to stay away from FastTech chargers. Is the Nitecore a good charger? I've also been told to only get AW IMR batteries. How do the Panasonic batteries stack up? If I can get a body-only Vamo for about $40 from FastTech I won't feel bad getting a quality charger and batteries if it's really worth it. Also, what the hell is a Vamo "Vivi?" Any difference between a v2 or v3?

Please correct me if I'm mistaken:

~ The V3 has the updated electronics (display), plus a removable top collar. Plus the swirls.

~ The V4 has the updated electronics (display), minus the removable top collar, and the non swirl body.

~ The V2 has the old outdated electronics (display), the non removable top collar, and the non swirl body.

So, the only logical reason to NOT get the V3, is you don't want the swirls. Because it is the best device (operationally wise) of the 4 iterations.

You didn't answer the question which was what's the difference between the so-called Vamo 2.5 and Vamo 4.0

This it's a guess but...
From what I've surmised, they are the same device however since it resembles a Vamo 2 (same body), albeit the LED had been upgraded to OLED, it is considered, by some, as an upgraded version of the Vamo 2 hence the designation Vamo 2.5.

To others, it is the fourth iteration in the Vamo line-up so Vamo 4.
Someone please correct me if a am wrong.

Initially, I couldn't find any US stores selling the V4 so i ordered a V3 from FastTech...then three days ago ago I saw the V4 on sale via GotSmok or Vapor Joe's so I ordered it partly because I couldn't bear to wait any longer. As soon as I order the V4, the V3 package arrived from China the next day. My luck.

Anyway, the V3 swirls don't look as bad in real life as it does online and I think I'm actually starting to like it. It helps you grip the device.

I'll do a comparison of both when the V4 gets here. I might keep both or trade whichever I don't like.

Here are both. Honestly the V3 is better. The only reason I got the v4 is cause I thought the v3 looked hideous but, now that I have one in hand, it's not that bad. The swirls are very subtle and I'm actually starting to like the design now.

Also, the v3 has a removable collar whereas the v4 does not. The v4 is ego threaded so it can accept clearomizers such as the iClear16, evod, t3 but since the collar is not removable, it can be a PITA if one of them gets stuck on it.

You can also use metal tanks with wider bases such as the Kanger MT3 on both.

Also, the v3 is slightly longer (even with the removable cap off)

That seems to happen a lot. People see the V3 in photos online and think it's ugly, but once you hold one in your hand (especially the brushed stainless version) it's pretty nice looking. The swirls don't bother me one bit, and it's a lot easier to hold without it slipping.
